i'm sure even if he could play an instrument he would still be rapping...why the hell would be be some drummer in a garage band trying to make it somewhere while the talent he has in his music genre he likes is going to get him somewhere, not to mention him being a white rapper was a gimick in itself.
haha. 50 was never "the biggest cocaine supplier for NYC at one point" i'll tell ya that much. from the sounds of it, you think 8 mile is an accurate potrayal of eminems life? no. and i will say that twista sucks, because all he has is speed, some of his content is ok. but imo the best "Fast" rapper of all time is bizzy bone. i respect ya for defending rap, but ya dont know much about music, even if it is this mainstream hoo haw
i dont belive that about p diddy, any producer/music maker as big as he is knows EXACTLY how to change keys/tones and the tempo of songs some of u ppl are pretty ignorant regarding these "musicians" all of these people getting talked about are WAYYY smarter then yourself. People arent worth millions and millions of dollars from being stupid, and especially musicians, Actors it's understandable, but musicians no.
buddy, i appreciate classic rock as much as anyone. Classic rock imo is the "TRUE" music genre, pure talent is what classic rock is. and i never once said he was a better vocalist than anyone. I said lyricist, and imo he is in that song "like toy soldiers" i dont care what the topic is, ie. his buddy getting shot and him dieing bla bla bla i'm just all about flow and content, for a rap song that song is amazing what i'm trying to get at is that it is not "geek rap" rap that has no meaning what so ever and is just words that rhyme and sound good pushed into a sentance ie: "all the time i'm fighting, while glaring down at red otogons with white writing" that doesnt mean anything. and that is actually from a rap song [the first couple lines from like toy soldiers] "I'm suppose to be the soldier who never blows his composure Even though I hold the weight of the whole world on my shoulders I ain't never suppose to show it, my crew ain't suppose to know it But if it means going toe to toe with the Benzino, it don't matter I'd never drag 'em in battles that I can handle 'less I absolutely have to I'm suppose to set an example, I need to be the leader My crew looks for me to guide 'em If some shit ever just pop off I'm suppose to be beside 'em Now Ja said I tried to squash it, it was too late to stop it There's a certain line you just don't cross and he crossed it I heard him say Hailie's name on a song and I just lost it It was crazy, this shit be way beyond some Jay-Z and Nas shit And even though the battle was won, I feel like we lost it I spent too much energy on it, honestly I'm exhausted And I'm so caught in it I almost feel I'm the one who caused it This ain't what I'm in hip hop for"
lmao. Dude don't just go saying "these people are way smarter than you" just cause they make more money. True American talk right there. The worth of someone is the worth of their bank account. Trust me when I say that there are musicians who live in their cars and clean up in sh itty motels twice a week probably all over the country that are more talented and "smarter" than most rappers. You don't even know the people here personally, what if one of these people talking is in Mensa or some bullshit. Yea if you wanna say stevie wonder is a genius, quincy jones is a genius as a producer, but not 'P Diddy." Not eminem either. These guys don't actually know anything about music. They know about talking about bitches and hoes and making cool sounds on the drum machine that get 15 year old girls, who know equally as much about music, to shake their asses.
ok, so the musician living in the back of his car working 2 days a week, only to never go anywhere is smarter than people worth over 500 million...yea right. you have to be smart to even HAVE money, a prime example is that dumb ****** Mike Tyson, the guy was richer than both p-diddy and eminem in his time and now he's bankrupt. when u have money, you can easily make money, if your going broke while your rich, u have no right having so much money.
Its actually quite possible. Truly intellegent people understand that money is nothing but paper and metal and can make people corrupt. "Money is the root of all evil" Rap doesnt=Rythm and Poetry Rap=Retards attemting poetry Read some Jim Morrison poetry. It is better than anything today... and most past stuff. Jim Morrison is the best star/poet ever(in my opinion) And what really irrs me is alot of rapper's blantent disrespect for women. Is horrible. And mix that with bad grammar, miniscule vocabulary, and horrible "music" all you get is the manufactured sound of mainstream music today.
actually 50 has the police records to prove that he was one of the top wanted men in NYC for drugs. Ill try to find the link that has the police documents on it. twista's shit with kanye does suck, you have to listen to his duos with ruff ryders to hear the real shit. and no i dont think 8 mile was an accurate depiction of eminems life, thats jsut plain retarded, that movie was garbage except for the few cameos(xzibit and obie). BTW 50 has a movie coming out kinda like 8 mile, its called "ambitions of a hustla"
bux: well-put. Money destroys my day everyday, there is no question about it. You think that puffy being in the right place at the right time by basically just being like "look at this guy notorious b.i.g he can rap" and just sitting in the background going "yea... yea.... oooo.... yea" makes him smart? Also, smart people know that ****** is a derogatory term for a whole race of people whose culture was hurt badly by hundreds of years of slavery. So why don't you not use it.
yea u have to be pretty darn stupid to be able to design a clothing line which is worth like 400 million while running a record label and producing music
Im assuming this post was directed at me, because of its opening line. I dont beleive Ive used the term "******" in years. Im totally anti-racist. Sorry if i musunderstood your post or you misread mine or w/e. Just clearing up that im not racist.
If you dont like it dont listen to it, if it pisses you off then shut up about it rap is expression and emotion that stems from either experience or through pure joy of storytelling, just as the blues was many many years before and that blues extended into what you call rock today rap is the new generation of the blues, speaks to the people and often to the hopeless souls out their who see a future in doing what they love. you deny what rap is and you deny blues from blues to gospel to jazz and soul, then came the rock an roll if you dont like what ya hear, the off button is always attatched to the radio, do not speak for what you do not understand
No, it was digitaldj going off about some bs who said that. As for your comment about puffy: it's real hard to use all the money you accumulated in the back of tracks going "yea baby... yea" to design a bunch of generic-ass gangsta clothes that say sean john on them. You fail to see that everything he did was unoriginal. Open your eyes. He's the bill gates of crappy music.
Bux: sorry about the confusion, those pronouns kill it sometimes... I was agreeing with you, bux, in the opening line, then I directed my comments at digitaldj without actually saying his name, but using an ambiguous pronoun.
by calling puffy dumb, your calling bill gates dumb. unoriginal- most definetley(thats why id ont listent ohim) but dumb? not a chance in hell. You have to be smart to make money like that. Example: 50 cent signing the deal for the g-unit sneaker with Reebok. a dumb person wouldnt do it. a smart person would. its as simple as that. Joe hit the nail on the head people: theres more then one radio station out there.
When there is a market for people who think that being cool means picking up a pair of G-Unit shoes, or a P-diddy shirt, or some Crunk juice, etc. the decision doesn't come down to whether you are dumb or smart. It comes down to whether or not you want to make money. By exploiting your name and your "crew" you can easily cash in because everyone who is a slave to the MTV/radio driven mainstream rap will be prepared to buy your products because they think they can be as much of a thug as the next person because they are wearing some pimpin new Reeboks which were designed by a thug turned mainstream club rapper.
you make a valid point man. not only has 50 degenerated but you were on target with the slave to mtv comment as well. something to consider though is some people( like myself) dont buy the clothes for the brand. ill buy any clothes brand if i think its my style. take what im wearing right now for example, a KOMA collar shirt with phatfarm jeans and white airforces. i couldnt give a shit what the brands are, this outfit jsut looks good.
eeeeh, he's alright, i guess. i like some of his older stuff. particularly his first one, and 'the eminem show.' but his new songs are boring and repetetive.
