This 'convo' between VG and theprodu/RJC reminds me of the gun control thread It appears VG is not really out to get it. After all it has been explained well enough now it is not about the record sales or how much gullible teens yell who they find awesome. It is about the music. About quality and artistic development. Aristic development does not mean go from a disney program to shave your head and swing half naked on a ball singing some catchy phrase real loud and clear. To some people it seems to mean that, or that they just sell a lot of records, or can make crappy music look meaningful by attaching some message to it. It doesn't really make the music great though.
Miley is a typical example of why pop music is so void of real musical quality and artistic development. I think that's why people have a problem when she gets compared with Zappa. Personally I think everything CAN be compared, it doesn't really matter how far the two things are apart. Especially when we look at the collaboratons the 'artists' (I have a hard time seeing Miley Cyrus as a musical artist tbh) had with others, I don't see why that can't be compared to another artist who actually wrote and played some real music.
