Nutmeg is very toxic for your liver, so PLEASE stay away from high doses and avoid mixtures with alcohol (besides: those mixtures are mostly the reasons for long hangovers). Some people also react allergic to nutmeg in higher doses than normally used in the kitchen. And you can also cause your body to react allergic to it, after first time using it as a drug (but you will only know, when you eat it the next time). If you really still want to try it, please stay away from any substances that use your liver for elimination for at least a week before and after the nutmeg-experience. You should never use nutmeg as a drug: - if you suffer from any kind of liver desease, - several close relatives had liver cancer, - you take medicine that is primarily metabolised in the liver, like beta-blockers, benzodiazepines (like Valium(R)), anti-rheumatics, anti-epileptics, medicine against migraena, Viagra(R), anti-depressants (like e.g. Prozac(R)), neuroleptics, opioids, the pill and so on...
