what methods are used to close them up again?

 

one is using a razor blade and cut them..they heal...cut them...they heal...cut them..they heal..etc etc then you get a scar that leaves a star....but that really isn't the best thing to do if you do it just for fad.

 

well, thats a pretty ghetto way of doing it. there are other less scary methods. first, you may just try leaving the jewelry out for a few months. you might be suprised how much your body will reverse it. my friend carla went from half inch to a standard 14 gauge in about 2 months. but, one very effective way is to irritate the hole. if you know youre allergic to some kind of cheap metal, wear it for awhile. if you piss off the area enough, your body will start to break down the scar tissue, and the hole will start to close. kind of what kris was saying, but a little less ghetto.. you can go to a tallented modification artist (brian decker, steve haworth, phish, etc) they can remove some of the lobe and fistula, and suture it back together in the shape of a regular lobe. while this sounds scary, its very safe. then theres the plastic surgery route. once the proceedre is finished, whatever method you choose, you can get the scar tissue lasered off. i always said, if you can get your ears to stretch that far, you can unstretch them just as far. it will also be work, just like stretching was. but thats how it is!

yup yup thats why you should always make sure its not a trend to you but a personal journey. Yeah razor blades are a pretty Ghetto way of doing it haha!!!! Yeah the blockbuster me and Jon went to when i lived with him said it took 8 months *which was around 1/2* for it to gauge down *i guess thats what you could call it*

 

the only reason i said that the razor blade thing is ghetto, is because it seems very uncontrolled. if a bleeding problem occured, then some people might not know how to control it. thats why i tell people to irritate it.

 

yea, no kidding, and anyway i think it would be pretty hard core to slice your own ear open, not quite the same as the stretching.... lol man the blood!
