Ducky had every right to voice his opinion, A&E had every right to get rid of the show. Whether or not they made a sound decision isn't really the issue. Everyone exercised their rights here, lets all go home happy.

 

Btw....Tiger Woods got dropped by a bunch of sponsors and he never said a word...whether it was a threat or opinion. He just got caught fucking a bunch of women. Same deal though.

They also breached a contract they wanted so badly. So if and I hope they do, They have all the right and will win, For breach of contract. I highly doubt there was a claus that said 'If you make fun of queers' you are fired in the contract. That's the beauty of a contract, And im pretty sure phil would have said fuck you if there were any bullshit added to the contract.

For the fact its ok for homo's to prance around carefree, But when a non-directed view point from a religious guy is said, Then gets fired for it, It was set to fail from the beginning. No matter what he would have said, The media would have spun it until 'this' same outcome came about.

Only thing im upset about, Is the fact the right to FREE SPEECH is now limited and we have to be PC to not offend homo's, lesbo's, One who don't know what the fuck they are, etc. If its good for one group, Its good for all.

I think this has already been dissected about 10 times. He can say whatever he wants. And...I'm sure there is a standard clause in the contract allowing for them to get rid of him for different reasons. On top of that, as far as I know...they didn't cancel the show so they wouldn't even be in breach of that particular contract.

 

It was marketed as a 'family show' about another 'family' that does whatever they do in the backwoods. If they fuck with one, They just fucked themselves. He was the head 'guy' on the show and what it was about, Not the son's or uncle.
It also does not need to be canceled to be in breach of contract. Its obvious many have no clue what a 'contract' is and how it helps in the long run when bullshit like this happens.

 

I know exactly what a contract is. I'm a businessman. How the show is marketed doesn't have anything to do with the contract unless it specifically states so in the contract. It also doesn't matter if they are a family. They all sign individual contracts. So you have those contracts and then whatever is binding in terms of running, rerunning or canceling the show. It all depends on the wording but I would guess it's all pretty standard stuff for all parties involved. And yes...I'm quite sure there is a clause to opt out for certain reasons.

I sometimes wonder why the blacks aren't back out in the fields pickin' that cotton, singing "Old Black Joe" like I was made to sing in grammar school in the 40s. The blacks in my class refused to participate. Ungrateful bastards, anyway.

 

The only good he did was if this was nothing more than a publicity stunt which the network was well aware of (and possibly even came up with) in advance....which is all I think it is. That...and it may also serve as a distraction.

 

They didn't sign individual contracts, That was a big deal when A&E wanted to pay them pennies on the dollar for the contract they signed a year or so ago. They said they were a family and its our way or no way. After a few calls, A&E came back with more than the other offers to keep them. This is not the first time they have had bullshit float their way and wont be the last.

Oh well, Best thing to do is sit back and watch them get richer over the whole ordeal while the rest bitch and moan. Either way, Fine example of a fucked up system the US is pimping.

 

If it's all one contract, then so be it but the terms of the contract (whatever they are) still apply in the same way.

I can agree with both assumptions. That and or they are taking advantage of this stunt for the fact it is a big distraction to pull people away from osamas scams and bullshit administration.

 

I imagine the contract said that any family member can be as hateful and ignorant as is possible and there will be no repercussions. Isn't that the way it usually works.
