Get used to it is all I have to say. Its just one of the many stereotypes in this world that never seems to go away. Nowadays I get the reverse. I'm pretty clean cut, don't have the long hair anymore, just look like an average ordinary guy, so people assume I don't do drugs.
Same here. The reason I got my hair cut is mostly because I didn't want people thinking I was "some hippy." Plus, I just didn't like the way it looked. It looked like shit after a while. Long hair seems pretty outdated now anyway. I'd rather people judge me based on how I act than on outward appearances. And I would rather have people take me as being some straight-laced square than some stoned-out hippy, even though I look like neither.
It's sad that society is this way, but going on the same stance that I stated above, whenever I'm pulled over nowadays, I don't feel quite so nervous that a cop might fuck with me, think that I have drugs. Societal stereotypes are a bitch, I certainly know I've had a few paranoid situations with drugs in the car simply because I had long hair and a dead sticker on the bumper. Call me Mr. Smith now.
its funny, i used to work at a coffee shop and the boss just didnt know what to think of me. she wold be like "so you got this punk, raver, hippie thing goin on" she couldnt seem to lable me HAHAHAHAHA I WIN!!!!!! me 1 - boss NOTHING!!
