LOL yeah, that's what I mean about people being used to driving on city streets vs. commuters/tourists who are used to suburban roads. If you can follow those simple rules ^^^ you're good. The tunnels are a different story, those do get bad because they are only 2 lanes, one direction, and everyone's going to the same place. Yeah, exactly what I was saying about how I think Philly traffic is worse overall... LA is pretty bad too (and the conditions of the roads are shit!) but it was always 2 of us in the car so we used the carpool lane lots of the time. They need to get more of those over here on the east coast.
One of my favorite things in the world is getting to beat the shit out of vehicles on forestry roads. Remote northern BC + coastal mountains + forestry recession = fun driving. One of the best perks of my jobs is getting a brand new 60,000 pickup for our crew every year.
It isn't a waste of money. You need to fight forest fires. I just happen to really enjoy driving down logging roads - I do lots of exploring in my own vehicle as well.
