Jesus christ. Your ignorance fails me. Okay... Dogs (regardless whether its a wolf, hyena, chihuahua or pitbull) need leadership and stabilty. In the wild there are packs. There is ONE leader in the pack. Basically the leader controls every aspect of their lives to create effiency and survival of the pack.If a pack leader were to let his pack do whatever they wanted, the pack wouldn't survive. Domestic dogs don't have a natural leader after they leave their mother and therefore the owner needs to provide that leadership.

If dogs sense that there is no leadership from its human family members then it will see it as his DUTY to take over as alpha male/female which in itself can be a fatal mistake to allow your dog to do. The dog will become alpha and will attack weaker members such as children to keep them in line, will mount you, will growl at you and will certainly bite you, become possessive and will be a danger to society. Dogs who are given structure and are given a leader will always be well rounded dogs even the wildest wolf can be easily domesticated with proper leadership as in the case of Shaun Ellis who lives with a pack of wolves he started as bottom of the pack and is now Alpha male.

So while you are fine with letting your dog do whatever the fuck it wants, I on the other hand dictate everything my dog does. When he eats, when he's allowed to play with his toys and when he gets walked. He craves leadership and as a result of giving my dog leadership, he is a really well balanced dog. I only hope that you never become a dog owner for your own safety :cheers2:

I'm not bashing I am just shocked at your replies. When you say "Oh It's not fair putting them on leashes" I'll assume it's a dog for obvious reasons. D ogs have lived alongside man for thousands of years and they were perfectly happy serving manand still are. Yes I do think it appropriate to call him my pet, after all I did pay for him. I keep pets for various reasons, the prime one is companionship. The second is for my two cats to keep flies away and my dog's purpose is to protect me and my family. Animals don't think "Oh gee I wish I could do this all day and that all day". Walking them on leashes serves as a purpose to keep them safe, away from traffic and such. So really I don't get whatever it is your trying to say. Fair enough your points on caged animals. But you're making it look like owning animals is a terrible crime.

chams are great but you can't mess with them or touch them or hold them or anything like that.

i can only hold rhonso once for maybe 5 minutes once a month while i clean his cage.

they are antisocial and if you try to hold them or get too close or have two that can see each other they get anxiety and won't eat.

but other than that they are awesome creatures
