Today, I have been mostly hitting hot metal.



A shitty scroll I made, I wanted to go round a couple of times but I made it too tight, I may try this one again tommorow because a nice even scroll would look really good (to me anyway)




Some tongs I am in the process of making (it got dark), they didn't have any 1/2 inch round stock at the hardware place so I brought readyrod, it's less than idea but it does the job (and is irnonically cheaper than plain steel) I Need to make the joint section a bit wider and thinner so they can actually open an close reasonably well, and put a bit of a curve in the handles.

 

Unless you where trying to do something I don't see, the scroll looks fine, get it red and finish it up, or take it out and re curl it....

Cool stuff man. Not trying to know it all, because I don't know shit.

 

This is a piece I've been working all week. I blew the blue horns myself, the yellow section was blown by my tutor. All polishing, finishing and gluing by me! It's a project based on sea creatures and shells LOVE IT best piece I've made in my whole time at uni

Edit: It is 24cm long and 17 cm high
