You and your ideas are weak. I have no problem with you believing in the tooth fairy, talking snakes, global floods or whatever. You can go on living in a fantasy world and I will go on pointing the error in you beliefs and ideas. Lose some of the rigidity in your beliefs and you might just see the world in a stunning new light.

Ummm, yeah, you started this thread, so you did start this. And you have proven yourself to be close minded to the opinions and views on this thread.
I have not ignored your few comments on embracing other religions, but your other posts kinda cancel those comments out.
Its people like you that scared me away from Christianity for many years. Luckily I met my hubby, an open minded Christian who was honest and told me he didn't know all the answers. His honesty eventually inspired me to read the Bible to find answers for myself, and that is how I became a Christian.
People need to find the answers for themselves, you can't shove your truths at people and demand that they agree with you. It just doesn't work.

im not demanding anyone agree with me. im defending my faith incase you didnt notice. thats whats been going on this entire thread. not once have i shoved truth down anyones throat. nowhere did i preach.
i think you're just being a bit harsh or a bit naive as to what really went on in this thread.
i started an innocent thread about a possibility of significance to dreadlocks. i was immediately attacked there on.
i did not plan that, and i didnt want it to happen.

Thanks. I wasn't raised in the church and I really resisted the concept of Jesus for many many years...I like to keep an open mind and always question theories and dogmas. My latest thing: reading only quotes directly from Jesus; it gives a whole new perspective to the Bible.

 

Corey, you need to be aware with how general society perceives Christians and act accordingly. Alot of people have had negative encounters with over-zealous Christians and that has turned them off from Christianity. Alot of people strongly disagree with the roles that Christianity has played in history. If you want to get your message across, you need to understand where they are coming from, maybe even agree with what they are saying once in awhile and acknowledge that you don't have all the answers, that sometimes you rely on faith alone.
I'm not saying that you are a "bad" Christian, I'm sure you have pure intentions, but you just don't know how to communicate with non-Christians about religion.

Oh its clear that there is an abundance of people who disagree with what I believe in. However, I didnt appreciate the automatic assumptions that a few people made on me that I wasnt a true and true Christian. That is what went wrong in this thread.
Evil men have impacted the ideologies of Christianity over the centuries, it is a hinderance to unifying with other ideas. I try to be as open as possible to other ideas and embrace them. Also I do admitt to relying on faith alone, as I think all people do in their own way. We are all unique and thats just another reason why I believe that we should all accept one anothers faith. Maybe you are right, i'm probably lacking in communication skills to non-Christians.
