Dreadlock Help

mine were backcombed, and then for the most part ive just let them be. some that came majorly loose have been twisted & ripped, and i like it, buuuuuutt i think i didnt do it well enough because it falls out =]

 

I'll just share what I have done. I backcombed mine and have left them to do their own thing. That means at three months that I have a bit of matting on each dread and quite a bit of undreaded hair. I also have the nest and lost of loose hair. If you cannot live with a nest or loose hair, I would try crocheting in the loose bits to tidy it.

Yes, you look like a fool for the first month with backcombed hair. I had to wear a hat everytime I left the house. lol Toooo darn puffy, but now I love em.

 

i think it's silly to say that those with new backcombed locks look stupid. let's face it, every method looks stupid in the beginning and neglect looks stupid for the longest amount of time.
i backcombed and i think if your hair is as long as it looks it won't look any "more stupid" than if you twist and rip.

 

And people who don't like or 'get' dreads are just gonna think you look stupid forever anyway, regardless.

neglect is the best way to go because anything other than neglect is for posers especially backcombing.
backcombing is good if you wanna look like a dumbass.
twist and rip is also for posers:hat::hat::hat:

 

Yo and seriously, the natural process just looks fucking baddass. You look like some kind of fucking rockstar.

 

it's the truth. it has nothing to do with bias.

 

I backcombed mine too and will go as far to say they look ridiculously stupid for like 3 months. It took every bit of that for them to lay down on their own. I haven't seen similar results by other people with any other method. All in all, backcombing causes lots of damage to. I can also see the backcombed hair vs natural growth. It's thicker and more like sausages.
