I just seperate dreadies that wanna congo after I wash them every 3 days or so. Thats all Ive ever done. Seems to be working fine thus far.
I see what you mean Daisy. I was wondering about the hairs that are left shorter looking wonked. I can never seem to rip all the way to the roots, so cutting (agh!!!) could be a solution? They congo like crazy, and it seems when I wash em they get even knottier and knottier. I did try what you mentioned, pulling the hair out of the 'wrong' dread. It just takes foreva. I don't knowwwwwwwwwwww. I should just get someone who is really angry with me, and let them rip at my head a while.
I dont think its NECESSARY, so much as an option. You can do nothing, or you can choose to work on them to get the effect that you want.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XY0Qxwdc7g this is so untrue Use Rubber Bands, palm roll 3x for each dread once a week its important if you want really pretty dreads. It is sooooooooo important you palm roll those zig zags ! LMFAO Wow, could this be the reason why her dreads are not thickening up and thinning?
That girl is very annoying. I'm not sure what it is about her. I don't care for her hair much, either. But I do wish I loved my hair as much as she loves hers. edit- in finishing that video she says that she folds her hair to make them dry straighter. ?
Lol at that vid. So many contradictions. "Washing!! Most important part!!... Drying!! MOst important part by FAR!!....... Palm rolling... MOST IMPORTANT PAPRT EVER to have nice dreadlocks!!!" She says that getting them wet makes them thinner.. does it fuck... its cus they sHRINK. And she calls the loopies "little fuckers"!!! I'm insulted!!! Urh.
This. I try not to use the scissors but sometimes I'll get some long loosies that it's tip merges with a dread that isn't even close by and get locked in too tight to pull or rip. The locked part is already in a dread; the snipped part just ends up being a smaller loosie.
I use scissors as well because since I got dreads I have become so severely hair sore it's unreal. I don't do it often maybe once every 7 months.
