Ah. Understandable.Better you are dealing with those issues PREkid. I know a lot of parents currently fighting the discipline battle
I get what your saying, but I know when I work in the local school (I am contracted as a school counselor because they don't have the budget to hire a f/t one) when the priciple threatens to call his dad he goes into tailspin and runs up and down the halls screaming. When I get the kid and convince the principal to hold off we start talking and processing and he genuinley feels bad and apologizes without being asked to. I work with emotionally disturbed kids now, but in the past when I worked for after-school care programs with typically developing kids this worked as well and the child would tell his parents what he/she did, apologize and decide on an appropriate consequence together AND we would determine how to get the kid engaged and busy so he has no time to act out.
You totally have a right to your opinion. Also, I am sure your kids aren't going to be like the ones you babysat and won't need to be spanked because you will be an awesome parent.
aww thank you for that. to be honest, I really really love kids. especially babies. and I hope I make a good mother one day.
