I'll be honest though, I'm really happy with the GOP primary . After Wyoming, Trump has to get 60% of the remaining delegates. I don't think it's likely. So what happens at a split convention? As near as I cn tell after the first vote, they mainly make it up as they go.

As a liberal, the degree of schadenfreude is orgasmic.

I forgot to mention that many of these people also dispute the findings of science while supporting funding cuts for education in general.

Imagine a rightwing forum centered around encouraging, and indulging in, selfishness with one 'hippie douchebag' nagging on and countering every topic they care about with bullshit, empty namecalling and stale stereotypes. Yeps...

I'm sure it happens all the time. They just get banned.

The problem for many on the US right is that they have nothing constructive to add to the political discussion so all that is left to some of them is to try and disrupt, pump out ‘bullshit’ and call people names – increasingly it seems to me that their ideas don’t seem to stand up, even to themselves.

The fuck up that was Bush Junior presidency, the financial crash, the fall of the neo-con faction, the rise of the tea party zealots, the economic model they believed in looks increasingly like a con and now Trump.

When people haven’t anything of substance to say they go quiet or shout bullshit/abuse.

From my experience rightwing forums (and many that believe themselves ‘of the centre’) don’t tolerate dissent as much as hipforums seems to – it’s how I found myself here back in 2001, hipforums was about the only US forum that I could find that allowed me to talk about US politics from a left wing perspective. The left has always been inclusive, that's its greatest strength and greatest weakness.

In general I agree - but I’d also add that many on the right always knew just how vulnerable to criticism their ideas can be if actually debated in an open way.

That’s why so many of them prefer hollow slogans and in the end abuse (and if you are on their sites banishment).

What right-wing focused forums did you get expelled from? I'm actually interested in performing a social experiment by making myself to be a left wing antagonist on a few right wing forums, as well as a right wing antagonist on a left wing forum, and see how long I last.

Sorry it was a long time ago and I never last long on them and I’d guess many of them have now closed, honestly they all kind of merge into one if you know what I mean – there was one with ‘freedom’ in its name and I remember that because another hipforums member here had the ID bannedfromfreedomforum or some such because he was also banned from it (he was a right wing libertarian and it was a conservative right wing forum so they didn’t like him just as much as they hated me).

I'd just head out and see what happens but back then was a different time, not long after 9/11, and even many other Americans where being told love it or leave it for criticizing US government policy of the time things changed i believe after Iraq turned sourer.

You can try that here, as long as you don't use two account names in the same thread. I won't tell on you. ;)

The thing is that I’m not sure if I could do that with any conviction, it would just end up as parody and become obvious that I was pretending or my right wing ‘character’ would come across as a bit of a nutter.

All I know is that we will see Donald Trump's face on memes for decades more likely than not.

This sounds like something I might do, but it amounts to nothing more than an immature waste of time -- albeit an entertaining, immature waste of time.

All I know is that when I am around so-called conservatives and liberals alike, I almost have the urge to take the side opposite of the predominate mindset in my presence, though I identify with neither one, just to rile people up because it's so easy (and the fact that both sides of the argument are so very wrong in so many ways). But then I realize there is already enough empty emotionalism in society, and I would rather not feed into it;.

Yes a right wing libertarian wouldn’t identify with either conservatives or liberals

Reasons why they both (Trump/Clinton) should be ignored; they are one in the same.

Unfortunately they weren't ignored, they both crushed it in New York. The high hopes we had have been dashed. Looks like Donald vs. Hillary once again.

Funny thing, the more Ted Cruz talks the more I think he'd be almost as bad as Trump if not as bad, though in a very different way. It's come down to a race between a snake oil salesman and a clueless tool.
