Think about it: why WOULD all those people vote against their own interests? You really think that's what's going on? Gimme a break.

 

When the media attacks Trump, it gives him anti-establishment cred among his flock. They want people to see Trump as anti-establishment, and that is precisely where his popularity comes from. The attacks against Trump have made him as popular as he has become. I don't believe for a minute that the guy is anything more than talk. The guy isn't going to win, and if he does he is going to be like every other politician that betrayed their promises after being elected. People are so fucking gullible. Presidents do not run shit. Trump would not be allowed to do half the shit he is claiming he will. Do you think the people pushing for global government really want to stop the immigration crisis? I don't see Trump winning, but at the same time I could see the real controllers using Trump to push a fascistic agenda simply because he gets people riled up and in a reactionary state of mind.

I feel that Hillary and Bernie Sanders are equally dangerous, if not more in many ways, but they do not have the same kind of cult of personality that Trump does.

Regardless of who wins, this country is already toast, as is the entire world.

 

Of course people vote against their own self interest, is this a real question? There is a very common school of thought in this country that the working class are poor as a result of people who are even poorer than they are. Poor people continously vote for politicians who will punish the people who are slightly poorer than they are, rather than bother concerning themselves with CEOs who make 400 times as much as them and hide all their money in offshore bank accounts all the while accepting government subsidies to further help their profitable business.

It is insanity.

Lower middle class whites vote republican because their ideology is more important to them than their self interests. The republicans are anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, pro-gun rights and espouse fundamentalist christian values. These are all issues that resonate with lower class whites. This same class is also suspicious of anyone different than them, i.e. non-christian, nonwhites, immigrants or whatever. The republicans are seen as being against these groups of people.

 

What's really amazing is how many millions of people you so readily slap down with all of those media stereotypes. How is your bigotry better than anyone else's?

 

People vote against their self interests because when the republicans continually say they are going to cut and they do cut programs---those mentioned foolishly believe that the cutting means MORE for them--more in their paltry paychecks. You can call that bigotry if you wish to do so---I call it astute, empirical observations. Some groups are very easily stirred up and fooled,IMO. You bombard a population with right-wing talking heads for a few decades and you get what we have now--a discourteous, disgruntled under class of fools that believe that republicans will somehow help them get that elusive AMERICAN DREAM! Never mind history. Never mind the recurring monetary hijacks of the monied class. Never mind that dozens and dozens of companies pay no taxes, due to loopholes, off shore stashes, instrumented by the very people the fools believe in.
You can say that this is wrong. But I'll tell you one thing--I was born in '39 and I'll pull some some old age rank on this one. Never, ever thought this country could be GUTTED like it has been.

 

The 'cabal' can HAND an election to a compliant fool, can upset the entire world economy, can rip millions of homeowners off, causing loss of their homes, can sell bullshit " legal" instruments to customers, then bet against those very instruments and make BILLIONS knowing that they would fail, can freeze government up and so, so many other transgressions against their own citizens-----etc-etc-etc- and yet---AND YET---

Reminds me of the what the hologram said in THX-1138= "it happened so slowly, that most men didn't even know it was happening. " The fact that there is a Trump running should tell you something.

 

and not to mention many of them say that global warming does not exist.....and do not care jack shit about the environment.......one of my main concerns in any election.
Big business rules again.....any Democrat with big ideas never stood chance, anyway, once they got into office on this issue, though.

Business, as usual...until as Bernie Sanders says....the American people rise up and say ENOUGH!

In a way, yes that is true. At least in some (many) instances.

My Father is a devout Catholic. He would never vote for someone that was not Pro-Life, ever. No matter what else their politics stood for, if they support abortion they would never get his vote. On the flip side, if they wanted to over rule legal abortion but were a complete idiot otherwise, they would get that vote. Similar support comes from other Conservative Christian sects.


EDIT: to add, my Father isn't poor, but white and a Republican... 2 out of three ain't bad.


Notice how abortion, and gay rights issues come to the forefront during an election cycle. Those two issues get a lot of votes for the Republicans... After the voting is done, they could care less and go on to other "main issues".
