can someone from usa tell me what exactly goes on in congress? as far as I see it, the prez makes a issue that he wants to clear with congress, they either pass or don't pass?

what if everyone got the option to vote on these things, given a time-frame and allowance of, say, internet voting - with consideration towards slow network areas etc? that I think is what you guys called "communist" - or at least I would call it that, maybe a dumb issuebender but it is the proportionally majority-rules way to vote, at least then any, if I'm wrong on this term please correct me - Executive Action ( president's forced motion) would have to answer to your Whole Country - btw, how is the position of number 2 at doctor evils new chairperson, mr maoist china!!!

An idea for a law is proposed and written up as a Bill. the Bill is presented to the House of Representatives by a sponsor and then assigned to a committee to look into it. The committee presents it to the floor for a vote or sends it to a subcommittee for further review.
Then the House members debate it and make changes if needed.
Next comes a voice vote, stand and be counted vote, or an electronic vote. If a majority approve it is sent to the Senate and it goes through the whole process again only it uses a voice vote only.

It can get tabled, or set aside at any point before the votes.
After it passes the House and Senate it goes to the President. He can sign it and it becomes law, he can veto it and it gets sent back to the House and Senate for changes and/ or another vote. If a two third vote approves the Bill in the House and Senate the veto is over ridden and it becomes law. Or the President can do nothing, if Congress is in session it becomes law in 10 days, if they are not in session it doesn't become law.

Currently Congress isn't doing much as they can't agree on any Bills or get enough votes to get anything passed. Much of the time the Republicans won't even allow it to come to a vote because they fear it will pass. They can do this by not having the committee report on the Bill, not setting a time for debate, the Majority leader taking it off the debate calendar, or filibustering it to death in the Senate.

Then the President gets pissed and issues his own orders to do something which are not the same as writing a law. His actions can be defeated by The Supreme Court or Congress in various ways but in the case of the Congress it would make them look bad as the President's action is usually something that needs to be done and Congress didn't have the guts to do it.

    Or something like that.

What you are talking about is a Democracy, everyone gets one vote on everything. The United States is a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy. Democracies don't work too well. Majority rule leaves no protection for minorities.

Thankyou MeAgain, ! seems remarkable that anything gets done at all, in what I understand is a Republican-ruled congress, with a democratic president?? What happens when something is integral to the rights and privileges of the citizens of the U.S.? can they "pull together", or do they agree to disagree..recent examples may be great; maybe a link to a site?

They will stand aside their differences when it comes to $$$! Easy and most recent one that comes to mind as I travel a lot for fun, fuel prices!
Awhile back, every last SOB voted to put more tax on gas! Went up, but dropped down over a couple months, but as usual, went up 5 to 10 cents a day until it was back where it was! Each state got to tax as they see fit up to 25 cents.
IMO that's a easy way to explain how fucked up our country is right now! Set up to fail from the start, when it comes to cash in all their pockets.

I like Trump. I have a gut feeling he knows what he's doing. I don't think for a split second he hates Mexicans or Muslims. I think the Five Families that own the media want to make him out to be the bad guy because he's not their slave. Besides, the Black Lives Matter Movement gets on my nerves.

  9. The media wants to fill our minds with the idea that he's the bad guy so that if it does turn out to be a race between him and their candidate, Hillary, everyone will already be brainwashed. That's why they're spending so much fucking time talking about how horrible he is.

Exactly, it has nothing to do with my color at all. Plenty of people can readily figure out I'm a psychotic asshole. But really, I'm just responding to media BS that was painting "old white men" as the greatest evil in the universe since I was a teenager (as far as I recall). Back then, I agreed. Which was easy for me because most of the people giving me grief as a teenager and a young adult, were old white men.

I'm totally paranoid about it now because I actually see the message being applied while I'm old and white. And I admit I'm disappointed that the people who STILL keep the drug war going, are old and white. Especially when I realize they are my age. How could guys my age be such sellouts?

Kinda like city and state workers! One works and a half dozen stand around and watch, and collect pay, until their turn in the hole. Once job is almost done, they will find a reason to dig that hole back up, and once again a crowd of workers paid to watch one work.

If they didn't do that, how would they get the same allocated money each year for bullshit jobs they half ass or don't do at all! Same goes for 'the war on drugs'. If they don't spend it blindly stupid this way, there will be a more bigger excuse to dump double elsewhere.

I'm also willing to bet that a lot of drugs seized, are sold by LEO back to dealers hours after the bust them! Job security and the mass 'drug scare'!

Yes he knows what he's doing. He's brainwashing the gullible masses. He's like a cult leader on a massive scale.
No he wants to deport them because he likes them.
    Why? Don't black lives matter?

Saying that Hillary Clinton is the media's candidate is ludicrous considering how much they've attacked her. They spend so much fucking time talking about how horrible Trump is.because he really is a horrible candidate.

Black lives apparently don't matter too much to black people since nobody seems to mind that black men are killing each other every single day in this country. The number of black men killed by white people (including police) pales in a huge way to the number of black men killed by other men of the same color.

And Hillary isn't a horrible candidate? I have no doubt in my mind that Trump is a piece of shit, but Hillary is a proven warmonger and murderer. Anyone who would defend her is every bit as much brainwashed as Trump's supporters.

I'm no fan of Hillary, though it would be fun to see Bill back in the White House. I'd vote for her as the lesser of 2 evils.

  18. I don't think you're seeing the same election that I am. Did you see Chris Matthews town hall with her? Did you see his interview with Bernie?

Hillary gets way more airtime than Bernie. Don't you wonder why that is? When Hillary won five states, it was all the MSM talked about for the next two days. Bernie wins three states by a landslide and they cut it off to play Lockup. CNN cut it to play some show about Jesus. They barely mentioned it the next day.

Maybe the media is in the unfortunate position of having to relay the truth about things sometimes, like the fact that she's under FBI investigation, but you can't construe that as an attack on her. Especially since they keep saying it's unlikely she'll be indicted. The FBI doesn't seem to think it's all that unlikely. It's a criminal investigation.

Time Warner has donated over $400,000 to her campaign. They own CNN.

And here's Comcast's (MSNBC) end of the bargain:

I have never been less impressed with a field of candidates as I have this election cycle. And there were so many of them too, you would think that by accident at least on of them would be likeable. I don't think Trump takes what he says seriously, he just knows how to tap into the fears of scared middle-aged white guys. It's scary how easy it is to lead people using fear. That said, I don't think he can win the general election. He's the best thing that could have happened for the eventual democratic candidate.
