Such an acceptance seems actually one of the primary causes that it is and will remain so. If a lot of people would simply not accept this 'fact' it could be a third party system in 2 decades or less.

It is at this point. But if people would want it to change it could. You won't even need a majority for that, just a lot of people voting third parties. Then the next election they could really make it count, or the one after that. A great change doesn't have to come over night. It is not a pipe dream. It is actually pretty simple. All you need is people that want it (and are aware that others want it too, because when you don't know then it feels like throwing away your vote) :p But great to hear you did vote on a socialist party on occasion (or at least seriously considered it) :)

I wouldn't worry about that :p If the majority of the people don't want this it won't happen right :)

The U.S. has had a two party system for 239 years, and it's worked fairly well so far.

The problem is not with the two party system, but with the amount of money that is allowed to influence politicians after their elections and during the running of their campaigns before.

What we are seeing now is the lack of understanding of the policies presented by each party and its candidates due to the influx of money from Super PACs, McCutcheon, and Citizens United and the inability and unwillingness of the media to present those facts to the public in a meaningful way.

Six corporations own 90% of the U.S.media. http://www.businessinsider.com/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-2012-6
(BTW 80% of all radio stations in the U.S. have the same playlist, "Mrs. Robinson" has aired 6 million times, that's 32 years of continuous play.)

In addition we have a large portion of the electorate who refuse to vote, mistakenly thinking that that is the way to "send a message" that things are politically screwed up in this country. In reality all it does is allow the passionate fringe elements of both sides to elect the bozos they want to push their exclusive agendas.

Vote for the candidates who push for political reform, the abolishment of monopolies, a fair distribution of wealth, and who believe that taking care of the majority middle and lower classes, takes president over protecting the minority wealthy class who don't need protection anyway.

I want to see Trump debate Bernie Sanders. I think it would be the most hilarious thing ever, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bernie disappeared the next day.

    This made me fairly nauseous:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/tom-brady-calls-donald-trump--amazing---owns-a-trump-hat-144537692.html

Is this to win votes? Do they think we're that easily swayed? I am disgusted and insulted and also terrified that it's going to work on others who are too disenfranchised (or stupid) to look beyond the sales pitch.

That would be Bernie Sanders in this election.

    Tom Brady supports Trump!

The head quarterback of a team that has been caught cheating for the last seven years! The team that used a an entire system of videographers disguised as the media, tape libraries accessed by spread sheets, the team that stole opponents' play sheets, jammed other teams' radio signals to their quarterback, and used players illegally; all allowing them to win three Superbowls with no recriminations at all.

And the Tom Brady that destroyed his cell phone to hide evidence about his role in deflating footballs used in games in order to give himself an advantage.

    That's great!!!

The comedy channel on cable should pay him big money to do it. It would be a wet dream come true for them.

I'm not taking Kanye's presidential bid seriously. Lots of entertainment industry puppets have announced their bids for president and tapped out later. Like Stephen Colbert, Hulk Hogan, and Arnold Schwarznegger. However I do think Arnold Schwarznegger would've been serious enough to go all the way if the constitution allowed foreign born citizens to run.

What has worked in the past does not have to work in the future ;) But anyway, I agree it is not JUST the two party system. Most big problems have more than one cause/reason/origin. It is evidently also the amount of money (ab)used to get somewhere in politics. Yeah the elections are a disgrace over there. Mudslinging, bribing, appearing in shows like the Muppets etc. etc.

Been thinking about this. Trump was rambling about the Iran deal, and Cruz was with him. Cruz knows he won't be president, but thinks Trump will be. I think Trump is going to the also rans, and telling them they will be in his cabinet.

I actually find myself hoping Jeb Bush will overtake Trump in the polls. I would rather see another Bush in the White House than Trump. Holy shit, if things don't change I don't think I can live with myself.

I would rather not see another bush in the white house ... and would take almost any alternative.

That is the shitty thing with a candidate like Trump, they make other unfavourable candidates look more favourable :(

I would rather have Trump than Bush. At least Trump has that unpredictable quality about him...which is really NOT something you want in a president, but its better than someone like Bush where you know exactly what he would do once he gets into office and none of it would be good.

I don't want to hate on America but please pretty please make sure you don't get a charicature or a puppet as a president. What good do you see coming from president Trump (that outweighs the bad :p)?

And... am I the only one who digs that Kanye West wing movie!? I generally dislike anything that gives that guy attention but this one seemed pretty funny and even kind of witty.
