No matter what he thinks, a typical American (conservative or liberal) would not be comfortable with his comments. Not something that a normal dad would consider saying in public.

Now Trump has said he would slash funding for the federal education department and Environmental Protection Agency if elected president. And he's still leading in all the polls! What does he have to do to self-destruct? What is so wrong with America that this is happening?

 

A lot of republican voters HATE the EPA...

 

cutting funding on education and the EPA sounds not so great. of course this is only an anecdote, unless you can provide citations. but i admit, it doesn't sound very good, if we know whats good for us.

We need to do some serious re-accounting, IMO we should shift more money into science and technology, education, and transportion; in no particular order, except that education is essential for science and tech, but you must also actually be willing to fund the research that scientists want to conduct. Only through science can we solve our environmental problems. Maybe take a small amount from the millitary, and the NSA and intelligence agencies who mostly waste money (is the expenditure efficient?) ... then they would be forced to use money efficiently, while the these cuts could be used to fund stuff that really matters, like science, tech, engineering and clean energy; the frontier of human knowledge.

But what's the alternative, that's what I'd like to know? And for all we know, Donald Trump is saying this to get support from the hardcore right wingers, he's a social engineer you know. There's no way to tell what he'll actually really do if elected.

With science advancing at the rate it is today, it is vital that we keep up with the rest of the world, in which we are falling behind sadly. Not because we do less, but other countries are willing to spend more on science. We could easily fall into 3rd world status rather quickly if we decided to blow off science and engineering.

 

Maybe take 5% discretionary spending from the military and intelligence agencies (the military currently receives ~55% of discretionary spending budget), and shift that money into science and tech, which receive only tiny slices of the pie that is the discretionary spending budget, in relation to the military.

 

Give the people a scapegoat for their troubles. Hitler had the Jews and Gypsies, Trump has the Muslims and Mexicans.

 

Should we be looking at Canada or Mexico if America becomes one big corporation under that clown ?

 

Just before it says that he wants to buy Puerto Rico.

sounds good, I'd be okay with taking 50% from the intelligence agencies, put that money to good use in education, scientific research and tech ... and we really need more spending on transportation here as well.

 

trump is the reason a lot of people will vote for clinton and forget they have other choices. well pretty much everyone in the 'clown car' is.
what we need is sanders or the green.
trump represents ideological prejudice. and that is biggotry. and that is harmful.
he makes a spectical of himself, to discredit and trivialize logic and consideration.
everyone can see this, and many think its a great joke.
many will laugh and vote for him anyway, having been already taught to hate logic,
and blinded by what is familiar to them.
like the shrub, i do not believe he is as ignorant as he pretends to be,
but that does not mean i would count on him to make decisions that would be wise for humanity,
or even a majority of humans living in one country.

The other day I overheard someone say they like Trump because he's so rude.
But I'm surrounded by ignorant fucks anyway. People who would vote for Huckabee, or Cruz.
It's a rare treat to meet someone who speaks favorably of Sanders. But I live in fucking hicksville, where there are a lot of people very similar to the Bundys.
Butt-pickin' rednecks and brain damaged alcoholics. Fortunately I will be moving soon to another country. Ex-pat, thats me!
