Oil isn't going to run out anytime soon. However, the non-issue of "peak oil" is being used to fear-monger and create artificial scarcity, as a way to even further jack up the prices.

I am all for EFFICIENT energy alternatives, but it seems like all the REAL alternatives have been suppressed.

Most of the Arabs I have met have been alright people, and I have met a whoooooole lot of Arabs.

Yet most of the practicing Muslim arabs I've met were either wankers, or wanted to kill me after I finding out I was Jewish.

The problem with arabs is that they take their Islam way too seriously. It's a religion that encourages violent fundementalism and nothing more... it's hard to have sympathy for these people, and it's hard to view them objectively when all they preach is hate and murder.

see how important that is? personal experience. he's not talking shit about all arabs. of course there are good and bad people of every kind. but his view of arabs is naturally affected by his experiences with them, just like my experiences with different ethnicities have, in some cases, been largely disappointing.

 

China could theoretically fuck shit up right now if it wanted to. Hell, a variety of countries could. I just don't think that China is too preocupied with global domination right now... they actually seem to be taking a swift turn towards capitalism and endless wealth.
