Yes - and not many people want to go to those lengths in their leisure time. Especially when it can get a very lukewarm response. BTW - my comment about debating or opinionating wasn't aimed at you.

I wouldnt say God in the sense that any mono or poly theistic organized religions assert. I also don't think theres a centient cosmic being thats responsible for, creates, and controls everything is plausible.. So, no.

However, i think theres a instrinsic force to the way the universe operates that strives to maintain a sort of Darwinian balance between everything. The natural world is designed with such a clear duality that i cant chalk up to coincidence, though i dont think theres any purpose to that duality than the longevity of the cosmos and life itself.

i rarely come on hipforums anymore but this post here i remember, it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. many here do not know of what happened to me. i am more than convinced god exists. why? because i died for over 8 minutes and learned the true truth of things. god is NOT a physical being as described in the "man made" bible. god is everything, everywhere, the air we breathe. how else could god know all, see all, hear all? the biblical god would be similar to that of a wizard who could all of a sudden fall over and die. not possible! god does not care if you are atheist or whatever else have you. rules = man, oneness = god. think of this: the ego seeks to divide(known as "satan") lol, the spirit seeks to unite. i think i have commented n this post several times by now. i forget, you see, my death came with some memory loss in its after effects. i do have quite he testimony to tell of my afterlife experience. yes my friends, its a lie that consciousness ceases to exist when we die. i SAW my spirit/soul leave my body. i have been given incredible knowledge. just do your best, that is what really matters in the end. forgive, let it go.

God's a social construct. The people must focus their energy and purpose into one all powerful idea. Some people need fairy tales. I don't require fairy tales, life is magical enough!

Either something came from nothing, literally, or something created the nothing from which something came. Both trains of thought are equally absurd, which is why I choose to believe. Seems the only logical conclusion.

Something could have come from literally nothing, if that is the way the universe operates. The cognitive dissonance that concept creates in you is not proof of anything other than you not having enough information.

Maybe thinking "x creates y" is not a valid mode of thought when operating on cosmological scales.

Or your premises are wrong and thinking you've got this kaleidoscopic orgasm called Reality figured out is hilarious :)

If I say "quantum fluctuations created the universe", you might retort "then what created those quantum fluctuations? That's God."

But then are you brave enough to ask the exact same question again? "Then what created God?"

Whatever mental technique you use to exclude God from the requirement of being created, that exact same mental technique can be simply applied to all of Reality just like you're doing it with "God".

Invoking a god only sets the goalposts a few feet back, you're still kicking a ball around, which is maybe not the way to understand life.

So many "could haves and "maybes'. How can I be sure? In a world that's constantly changing? Nothing is certain, not even that. Man up, place your bets, and enjoy the game!

Quote in a Gary Puckett song video I posted today...

"Love cannot be found where it does not exist.....nor can it be hidden where it does...."

    no games...no bets here.....

Knowledge doesn't work that way. A man should be brave enough to shrug his shoulders and that's it; no committing to stories because they make him feel good. You are under no compulsion to "place your bets"; in fact, that is an invitation to be in error. You either know or you don't.

Does the female orgasm exist? There is so much varied opinion:

There are so many arguments about the female orgasm that, how can any of us really know. Some might argue, ‘well any female should know, I hope, for sure.’ But could their argument, their opinion, truly stand up in court? More importantly, in a Senate committee hearing?

Ok, sure----if the democrats were in control, then yes----but the Republicans tell us----in fact all conservatives tell us-----that liberals are a bunch of pussies, so can the common man really trust their opinion? Is it possible in any way that a pussy could know if the female orgasm even exists?

Some will say, to come up with an answer would…

But when you get down to it, we are all just like any congressman discussing birth control, abortion, rape, or whether sanitary napkins should be just as limited on taxes as male products for sexual health:

Nonetheless, you would think that there would be those among us that have experienced a female orgasm, and that should therefore ‘know.’ I don’t----I’ve never experienced a female orgasm, have you?

…granted, I have been told that I am witness to the indirect results of a female orgasm---the kicking, and scratching, and screaming of rape… But what if that is only a female illusion---that life has duped them into believing in something that is not real?

Besides, I am too busy trying to enjoy something that we all know is physical and real---after all, that is what physical reality is all about----the male orgasm------after all, who cares about what is going on within the ‘other’ side----the irrational portion of the equation.

And what if the authentic female orgasm was actually a very painful thing----a blood and pus filled extravaganza expelling other unmentionable bodily fluids from, as that great and expert master professor of wisdom and knowledge of the female body, Donald Trump, has taught us, from every orifice of the female body (…ah yes, and now I must recall that Freudian fear that each of us secretly have, even if we don’t realize it----that the authentic female orgasm must surely cause to come forth those vaginal teeth which will surely grab hold of, shred, and then castrate each and every one of us of that most important human anatomical feature----the phallus.)

But now some people will say----let’s call them, ‘females,’----- that I am using a complete lack of existential experience and knowledge to rationalize and create from nothing, an argument for which I have no qualification to make.

But these are people who try to tell me that, yes, there is a female orgasm (and some say that it is everywhere).

…Wait, what was the OP about again????????

Ok-----before my satire in the last post is labeled as trolling, or misconstrued, let me point out that there are numerous kinds of people that could give opinions on the subject of the female orgasm:

1.) First and foremost, there are those who experience them directly (yes, there is a gender qualification here) and for them the female orgasm is a subjective truth.
2.) There are those who experience the phenomena of it indirectly and therefore have a subjective theory, or even truth regarding it.
3.) There are those who have never experienced it, but they sincerely want to believe.
4.) There are those who believe through deception (“Oh baby, yeah, you are such a strong man—always make me cum. I am cumming. Could you scoot down, I can’t see the TV. Oh yeah baby…”)
5.) And there are those who haven’t experienced it directly or indirectly, or who have been deceived and realised the deception, or who ignore the indirect experience and decide it does not exist.

In the first category, there are those who are so free of hang ups and that the experience is so natural and forthcoming that they do not even think to question whether or not it exists or not (e.g. indigenous peoples).

In any event the ones who are most able to tell what is ‘their own subjective truth’ are those in category 1, and to a lesser extent category 2. They are probably the ones to be the least pushy on their opinions----the most opinionated being those in 3, 4, and 5. See the parallel?

Now the real question is, what did Asmo mean by a dead or live cat-----is this some kind of kinky sexual fetish or practice, or is that a euphemism for the female sex organ----but even then, that is really weird about being dead… Whatever did he mean????

He would probably deny these insinuations and insist that it was taken out of context and that he was actually referring to something like the belief in God and Schrodinger’s cat, and observers shaping their own reality------but whether that is true or not, it brings up a new Schrodinger’s paradox----there is a box (a kitty---euphemistically speaking) in a prostitute in a box (literally speaking)…

I think I kind of lumped them in with the first 4 categories depending on how they fit in.

I love how the song you quoted fit right into it in its own way!

It could have, sure, but neither you, I nor anyone else on the planet can comprehend how. Thinking one day we'll solve this contradiction,b-b-because, is wishful thinking usually attributed to faith, which has no place in scientific theory. When I wrote God 1 Atheists 0, it wasn't meant to be taken literal. I was just being silly and teasing the atheists in here. My reason for believing in a higher power, regardless of what that turns out to be, isn't grounded in reality anymore than people who say there must be intelligent life other than humans in the universe, b-b-because it's so big, duh, which I happen to agree with. I choose to believe because I can not comprehend something from nothing, it's really that simple. Seems a pretty decent way to understand life.
