Damn Unique, you can't even imagine how my eyes lit up when I read that post. You just said everything i've been trying to say un a more mature and intelligent nature than i ever could. Thankyou!
Hehe..... Well, I just said what I was feeling and honestly, I hate the whole scene in Iraq now and its consequences that the world has to bear. Peace can't be obtained by fighting pointless wars over things like OIL!
I don't think you are going to change my mind on this and I'm not going to change yours. I'm not here to abuse people by the way which is why I didn't pull your heartfelt thread apart. I just happen to think that the world is a better place without Saddam at the helm and that as a country Iraq had enough warnings as to what the next course of action was going to be.
No, you probably won't change our minds and we probably wonr change yours. But as long as you say you support this awful war which we do not - well, we'll listen but we will always come up with a counter-argument. I know you are not here to abuse people, you are in fact one of the more mature people on here.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1342826/posts You might not agree with any of this.. and have a counter arguement.. i would like to hear it [if thats alright]..?.
So, first of all, let's talk about your "argument" regarding the intelligence failure thing. If America is all that high and mighty superpower, the best in everything etc. etc., then I find it hard to believe that its EXCELLENT intelligence made a mistake when it said that Iraq had WMD's. I mean, come on, the U.N. team had also gone to Iraq, right? They DID NOT find any WMD's and the supersmart American intelligence failed here! You think any sane person would ever buy that excuse (yes, that's what it is)? I think not. Yes, I totally agree that Saddam was an extremely cruel man and there were atrocities being committed on many Iraqis. Now, temme, did anyone ask Bush to go and invade Iraq? No. This is the job of the United Nations. If all the world leaders follow Bush's footsteps, then, I hardly think that the World War III would be far away. And if Bush and all those "leaders" who supported him in his so-called "war against terror" are sooooo concerned about the world, then why don't they concentrate on a few other countries too? Why is the situation in Darfur in Sudan being ignored? The government backed ceasless ethnic cleansing going on there is horrifying! People are being killed in thousands everyday and even more are being enslaved. Where's the compassionate Bush? Why isn't he there? WHY? Because Sudan doesn't have oil. Simple enough. If tomorrow hidden oil wells are found in Sudan, then, the day after tomorrow, you'll hear the news of America invading Sudan. Let's take another example, shall we? Saudi Arabia: a country that's notorious for its violation of human rights, particularly those of women. News of killings of women by stoning, honour killings by the State etc. are very common. Do you see the American troops fighting for democracy there? NO. Why? Saudi Arabia is America's ally. That's why. Another example: Pakistan. There are solid proofs that numerous terrorist groups are operating in Pakistan and those are State backed too. Where's Bush and his army??? Oh of course! Why would they bother invading some country which doesn't have oil AND which is their ally? Any answers??? As for the terrorists, name just ONE major terrorist who has been caught/killed/executed during all these four years of war.....can you? I'm not saying that we should let these terrorists kill so many innocent people. However, you think that the killings lessened after Bush started his so-called "war against terror"????? Of course, they DID NOT.
Do you not think that world war III is on its way? There are clearly racist tensions throughout the world at the moment and its getting worse. The last world was although primarily Hitler's doing was caused by a number of civil wars as well. Take Spain for instance. Just before the 2nd world war Spain was in the middle of a civil war with Franco at the helm. There was unrest in Turkey at the time as well and the Germans had been allies with the Turks since the 1st world war. Now look at the world..... Racist tensions in Britain.... How many more years before the minorities become majorities and turn on their white oppressors like they have in Zimbabwe and to a certain extent South Africa. But Britain isn't like Zimbabwe or South Africa. There has always been a racist undercurrent in Britain just waiting for the day that white can turn on black and surely that will result in Civil War in Britain. South Africa and Zimbabwe are in a really poor state and the moment and look at the riots in Australia and France. Pakistan and India are at each other's throats. Russia and every democratic state around them have tensions with Russia quadrupling the price of gas to the Ukraine because it is a democracy now. Spain have problems with ETA which stems back to the 2nd world war. There is the extreme Jihad problem throughout the world (I'm using Jihad now because I think its unfair to use the term muslim. Its like saying all christians read from the old testament). America are at loggerheads with most of the middle east but primarily their old favourites Iran. Black, white, asian all rebelling against each other. World War III could be on its way. Just one or two civil wars.
As a comment to you I can only quote a very wise Afro American man: Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. Love and Peace
Good quote Oline. As for the current tensions I don't believe them to be related to race either I think there more to do with country and religion. If one side strikes hard though the others won't be far off and WW3 will be well on it's way.
The U.S. never had support from the U.N. for military action, let alone a complete invasion and overthrow of Iraq. The U.S. never had the votes it needed in the security council for authorization of military action. That's why in frustration the Bush administration made statements that the U.S. could go ahead and invade without U.N. support. If anything, the invasion was a violation of 1441 which stated that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries in the region should be respected. The U.N. charter also states that UN member states are not to take military action except in self defense or if the UN security council determines it necessary to keep peace. Even if the UN had authorized some form of military action, the use of military action for the purpose of regime change isn't supported by the U.N. .
AmErIcA LaNd Of ThE FrEe ArEn'Y yoU pRoUd Of ThAt ... But see it's hard for me to talk i live in Australia and there dosen't seem to be that much said about anything. i mean i hate violence and war and everything that goes with it but i guess we just seem to not get involved i wish i could be the change in the world but one person can only do so much...... I am not that educatedon the topic so i'm not goingt o make statments i can't back up but i just wonder why you wouldn't want peace ...have a good one mate *peace* )
Hey thanks. I really do want peace probably more than a lot of people. But if people's idea of peace is war and lies and deception, I mean if Australia or America are considered truly free and we're fighting for that kind of peace or freedom. Then I reject that idea. Their idea of peace and freedom is a false notion and I say fuck it. Why did we have to get involved in this shitty war, if anything its making us less free than anything. We're all just glued to the TV terrified that some guy with a towel on his head is gonna come blow up our house. This war hasn't made us any safer. War Sucks
