the 80's blew. Talk about the death of rock. I don't listen to grunge music at all. Infact I hate it. But I will say that they did have more to say then...motley crue or Ratt. In the 80's they all sounded the same...in the 90's they all sounded the same. Rock has pretty much been dead since 77. I mean there was punk, british metal, and thrash...but really what else was there?(as far as rock goes)

The 80s had a message. Ever listened to White Lion? Well you should. They were the Bob Dylan of hair metal.

    Yay for jam bands!

I'm in love with Stone Temple pilots, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Temple of the Dog, 7 Year Bitch, Luna Chicks, 4 non blondes, and Greed Day.....those were just a few people I was really into. Yes I have heard of White Lion and may I say Thank God for such an awesomw band. Jam Bands were sort of a phase I went through but I still listen to The Big Wu, Blind Melond, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, Tea Leaf Green, Sublime, The String Cheese Incident, Moe, Oysterhead, Lotus, and The Greatful Dead....just ot name a few. Thanks for all the comments and keep them comming.

Sorry, I almost forgot to write that Badmotorfinger was awesome. I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly but if the song Outshined is on their then it's the album I'm thinking of. Soundgarden is one of my many loves.

Eh, I wasn't talking about grunge. I bet you missed all those heavy rock 'n roll bands from the nineties.

For me, rock and roll took a turn for the worse once punk started getting popular. I've always hated punk music, and when my friends make me listen to some Ramones or Sex Pistols or some other shit, I think of how stupid the lyrics are and how untalented the "musicians" were. Then, with the 80's came with the terrible fake drum sound (i'm a drummer, so I notice it right away) and terrible pop music. Then, in the 90's grunge just turned me off. To me, Cobain was never anything but a talentless junkie, but I guess that's what you needed to be to be popular in the 90's. So, to answer your question, no I don't miss the 90's period, or the 80's, or the punk scene, for that matter.

I do not miss the 90s.

However, I am not an 60/70/80's elitist bitch either. Those who are annoy me, hardly anyone with those views were even around in those days, and many cite what was at that point "popular" music as the good shit, while discrediting all those less than high-rotation bands that didn't make it big but still made good music in present day.

Another thought... If anyone can say that they hate an entire genre, or subgenre of msuic, you have my condolences.

i do wish i could have seen some of them in concert, and i do love grunge/alternative from the early 90s/late 80s all hell of alot better than majority of the music now. meat puppets, nirvana, pearl jam, pixies, chili peppers, they all changed music.

and woodstock, yousay you love guitar solos? listen to tommy emmanuel

...oh and to the person who said that they like all music, there is nothing wrong with disliking music. there is some music out there that is just bad - (fergie is a prime example.)

Yeah. I'll at most respect most music, but if the music flat out meaningless then it's not worth my respect.
