I have moderate depression and agree that 5 htp works pretty good. But again, that's for depression, NOT psychosis. You say "for mental health" like there's just one mental health issue out there. There are huge varying degrees of mental health issues just like there are physical issues. 5-htp isn't a feasible solution for psychosis, neither are any other otc herbs that I'm aware of.

I'm sorry your insulin was put on too high of an algorithm while you were in the hospital. If you were feeling low the nurses should've checked you and brought you juice, and notified the doctors so that it wouldn't happen again. Hypoglycemia happens in hospitals all the time, but we have a procedure to follow when it does happen. If your family had to bring you food than the nurses weren't doing their job. It's not just the doctors. Still, that doesn't make insulin bad. Before insulin nobody had diabetes because they would all be dead as soon as they had it. As you said, type 2 diabetes can be controlled with diet and exercise to the point where prescriptions may not even be necessary. When you have an infection your sugar naturally goes up so it makes sense that they put you on insulin. Unfortunately it can sometimes be hit-or-miss when it comes to getting your dosages right, that's why the nurses are suppose to monitor you.
