when i was in highschool most make up was tested on animals. I stopped wearing make up back then for that reason and just never got back into it. I'm glad that there are so many companies that don't do that now though they probably don't need to since they can create the make up based on the old research.
I don't mind that some people enjoy make up.no harm. I hate it on myself. i feel like tammy faye baker (remember her?) with the stuff on. blah! personally i prefer the natural look.

    On special occasions...;)

I believe a woman's skin should be as natural as possible at all times!
    That is Beauty!
Plus makeup is not good for the skin!

    I agree with Fernanda. :)

I RARELY when make-up, and even then, it's super minimal. I hate the feel of it and my skin usually looks worse w/it. Plus, there are very few make-up products I would wear. I get the kind w/the fewest chemicals as possible and that don't experiment on animals and even then they barely get used.

I only ever wear a bit of mascara...and a little eyeshadow if I'm off somewhere special or on a night out.

Never worn foundation, powder - I have sensitive skin so even if I wanted to wear that stuff it wouldn't do me any good.

Don't do lipstick either - hate the stuff.

Hell, I'm young and relatively fresh-faced and clear skinned face wise. Why hide what you have under a layer of paint? I love my freckles and wish them to be free! :p

i am getting out of my make-up stage, i never really wore that much but i started to get into the black eyeliner and eye shadow, but that really only lasted for a month. I would only wear cosmetics that didn't test on animals so it was expensive.

I have thought the same thing as funkyhippychick, why should women feel as though they have to wear make-up to be attractive if men don't. i am slowly weining off make-up, i think it's better for you. people want to see me, not painted on me.

    If not just click on...

I did vote too. If you really want your poll from only biological females subtract one from the wear daily going out or not category.

Now my take is going to be different from many here I think but I do share some of the same things that have been mentioned. Where I'm going to be different is that I wasn't "allowed" to have the fun or share in the benefits of make-up growing up as you biological females did. For that matter, until I took empowerment to do these kind of things myself I still wasn't "allowed" to. There are still some who want to deny my this but I no longer accept that I can't wear make-up, clothing, perfumes, hairstyles or accessories choosing as I go along just as any biological female has had the freedom to do from birth.

OK, so now that I have stated my declaration of independence on this I'll go into my reasons behind daily wearing.

I have dark circles under my eyes which get worse if I don't get much sleep. I am an insomniac so that is quite often. Concealor takes care of that. I also feel prettier when I have make-up. OK, I am falling into the same pressures that some of you have liberated yourself from with this but I go back again to for a good part of my life I wasn't supposed to look pretty & I finally am taking that right.

Now something that you biologicals in general don't have to concern yourselves with that I do is facial hair. Well, maybe some have a little but trust me; ladies if you had it to the degree that I do you would want to do something to camouflage it. The purists are probably already cringing but this is something that although the rest of me I have been told looks fairly feminine, 5 o` clock shadow just doesn't fit with it. I can only grow a goatee type beard when I choose to go that route but it is still there none the less. Again, I have found that laying a base of concealor in the areas where the hair grows helps that. I also use foundation because it does even out the completion. I get zits once in a while so the concealor goes there before the foundation.

Back to the feeing pretty thing. For that I have recently been using anti wrinkle stuff around my eyes, the corner of my mouth, & the center of my eyebrows & forehead. Like I said then comes the foundation. I don't daily wear eye shadow but I do usually wear mascara. blush & lipstick or lip gloss. If I'm going out I always use eye colors & eye liner. I just feel I look nicer if I do these things & it is as I mentioned part of feeling feminine.

If you got this far. Hope this gave an insight to at least one genderqueer's thought process on this. I want to end this by saying that one of my most happy moments I had recently related to this was when a very good friend of mine, the one that considers me a girlfriend with a male perspective told me that my lipstick looked pretty & in general, I looked pretty that day. It was a wonderful feeling. I nearly ran my mascara as my eyes watered with joy.

Snowdancer, I've seen your pic before on threads and I didn't realise you are/were(?) a man, I thought you were female! :) I dont know if you want to remove your facial hair permanently or not, but if you do, have you thought of laser surgery? My friend did it recently to get rid of her upper lip hair and she said it was amazing. She was allerigic to waxing/removal cream before and now she doesn't have to do anything. I'd like to do it too, if I had the money, I'm sick of having to thread my upper lip! Sometimes I'm so lazy I use scissors! (probably not a good thing though :p)

It gives me a boost when people see me as female.

Believe it or not I'm not entirely sure I want to permananently remove my facial hair. As much as I bitch about it & work to cover it there is something insode me that keeps saying "What if?" I think it's odd but anyhow, I don't think that I can afford laser. I have also heard that it works pretty good.

I have never heard of threading in this context before. You run a thread over the area that you ace trying to remove hair?

Yes you twist a piece of cotton thread (preferably not dyed) in a certain way and run it over the hair in a 'scissoring' motion. It pulls the hair out from the root in large chunks instead of one by one. It hurts like f*ucking hell though but you eventually get desensitised to it. They do it at many asian salons. Here's a link I've found: http://www.hairfacts.com/methods/threading.html

hi, i personally prefer girls without makeup. i don't wear makeup, and i think the same standards should hold for males and females. after all , we're all equal. this is not to say that i look down or badly or negatively upon females that do, i just prefer and enjoy looking at a woman that doesn't have any makeup on. after all, what's the point if it isn't really even real :)

I personally think boys look much better in makeup, but I'm into glam, so there. Girls: your beauty is just being covered up when you wear makeup, though if you do something artistic and unusual, it can be cool!
