I've got a friend whose fingers are always yellow...I guess smoking for long term and not exactly having the facilities to wash your hands regularly (he doesn't have running water or indoor plumbing, he uses the bathroom at the gas station down the street and showers at friends' houses) does that. And don't feel too bad, my boyfriend goes up to a week and a half without showering just cuz he doesn't want to. He doesn't stink, though, so...I guess he can, lol.

When I cook I wash my hands every time I go from veggie to meat and vice versa!
Since I work outside a lot, I have to clean my finger nails and wash my hands!

When i used to smoke cigarettes (up til a few years ago) I smoked rollies and they stained my hands bad.
We just got this place in tennessee a few months ago, and we have this huge field in our back yard w/tons of black walnut trees. since we got the place just in time, I went and picked tons of walnuts once they were ripe and spent ages husking them - the juice stains bad and my fingers had yellow-orange stains for like a week after. I scrubbed and scrubbed, I felt gross, and thought people would think I was a chain-smoker from just looking at my hands!

funny, i've worked in restaurants for 10 years, and short of the scene in "waiting", i've never seen a cook or server do anything nasty to a customer's food. it just doesn't happen.
but i can say is this: if you're getting your food wrapped up, ask for the box and do it yourself. sometimes a server doesn't think they're doing anything wrong by using their fingers (the last time they washed their hands was...when?) to push food into a box. or the food falls out onto the dirty nasty counter, and the server grabs it and throws it in the box....i see that all the time, but never deliberate nastiness.
    my 2 cents.
    peace.

Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. My ex-boyfriend used to work at a Pizza Hut and the particular customer that ordered a pizza had been exceptionally rude to them on many occassions, including this one, so they all had a turn at spitting in the pizza before it was brought out front. That's the first story I've heard and my brain's stuck to remember more at the moment.

Piss is sterile. You wash your hands not because you may have gotten piss on them, but because you were touching the part of your body REALLY CLOSE to where POOP (which is loaded with bacteria) comes out of. Also, opening the door to the stall ect, puts more bacteria on your hand, as does flushing.

I do also. I am glad I am not the only OCD sufferer here. I use paper towel to flush (or my foot) and lay the towels out before I wash in public toilets. I also throw away the first few squares of toilet paper, who know WHO touched them, and with what on their hands? I wash before I go, too. I don't want someone else's nasty germs from the doorknob on MY nice clean yoni when I wipe.

    OK, I have issues. ;)

Ramona, bathing every day isn't really as important as washing after going to the potty. Your back, legs and neck don't get nearly as germy laden as your hands. As long as your bf washes when he goes potty and before he eats, bathing infrequently isn't a big deal.

    Always.
And thats why I rarely get colds.

I also flush the toilet with my foot if I'm in a public washroom.

I've been in public washrooms where there are only 2 stalls and someone has taken a poop and not flushed or washed their hands. It's pretty obvious and pretty sick.

Washing after a poop, shouldn't that be manditory?

I watched an intersting thing on TV the other day where the said you have something like a 100 times more germs on your computer keyboard than you do on the door of a public restroom.

But yes I always wash after using the toilet and was SO grossed out the other day at uni when I saw this asian walk out of the toilet and straight out the door without washing her hands. GROSS.
I hate using my hand to open the restroom door too.

I always wash after using a public restroom, but I sometimes don't bother at home when I've only taken a pee. I live alone; it's only my own stuff anyways.

When I pee, no, unless I get pee on my hand. I always wash my hands if I have done #2, after doing a #2, washing my hands is an absolute nesscesity.

yes, I always wash my hands after using the restrooms...my mom was really strict about that and always made me do it...after using a restroom, before eating and after you getting home...;)
so it is pretty normal for me and I've never thought about not doing it...
    I'd feel dirty if I didn't....
