no i understand what herd immunity is, i am trying to see where you sit with the original poster's question. does that even make sense? lol! are you saying that you dont vaccinate because herd immunity is protection enough, or that the reason those of us who have chosen not to vaccinate are only successful because everyone else does so? sorry for the questions, but this is a topic that interests me greatly
I personally do not have any animals...however, I do have a child, and I do not vaccinate him....I believe that herd immunity is protection enough... it is hard to say though if the reason that those who choose to not vaccinate see success is because of herd immunity....or is it just because the diseases that so many vaccinate against just aren't around in the numbers that they used to be?
ah i see! thank you hun! i will see if i can dredge up the link from the depths of my pooter, but there is an article somewhere with the vaccine and disease statistics that show how most (human and animal) diseases were already on the DECREASE before any vaccines for them were developed. herd immunity can happen also because of enough individuals gaining natural immunity, such as would happen in an epidemic of a new disease. enough individuals become immune, and pass that immunity on. mother nature at her best! thank you for taking the time to clarify for me hunny
