I am positive that existence, reality, the universe, all of this, is far more real, vast, mysterious, incomprehensible and inexplicable than anything anyone can completely know or say about it. It may even be conscious and divine, though not necessarily in any form you are able or willing to recognize.

    are you serious?
the first girl said her basis for following christianity was pretty much "hey, if i'm right then sweet, and if i'm wrong, who cares! la-de-da!". i can't stand that mindset, and i'll still say it's pathetic wagering. if you believe it, then really fucking believe it, and stand by it completely. she just flat-out said that she follows christ out of fear.
the second girl, more absurdly, said that she follows christ because we spell his name with a capital-C. i can't imagine what's going to happen when she sees the word Ganesha. talk about mind-boggling.
you say, i'm wrong to tell people that they're wrong. would you care to explain further? i thought this was a site to discuss and debate; i'd imagine that if they feel they aren't wrong, they'll have the gumption to come back and debate the subject further. are you saying that we should all just type gobbeldygook all over the forum and never dare question what anyone else throws on the table? do you have anything to say about the subject of this thread?

    peace,
    sophia

that was well said. it's impossible to say whether we will ever find the Truth, but i think it's safe to say that we don't possess or recognize it right now.

fair enough... but your reasoning that reincarnation makes sense because matter can't be destroyed doesn't really follow through. do you consider a body decomposing into earth to be reincarnation? just wondering.

An infallible statement would be, "You say I am wrong to tell people that I do not agree with their ideas." For you to ultimately state that those who believe in God are wrong is foolish because that is simply your view verses their view. Had the subject been, "Do you believe in pink elephants", instead, than your statement of, "I'm wrong to tell people that they are wrong", would hold validity based on the fact that clearly, and with scientific proof, we can see there are no such things as pink elephants. However, science has not been able to either prove or disprove that God exists. Therefore, your statement is clearly nothing more than your own personal viewpoint.

Yes, I think there is a God.

I also think He had a Son and His name was Jesus.

i believe in god... purely because the way i see it nothing can come from nothing.

for example (a very bad one) say you have two rocks, nothing is going to happen to those rocks until someone or something pushes them together.

Just because we exist does not mean that the force behind it all is self-aware....

It all started with a singularity apparently.. the vastness of everything out of nothing.

    Are you self aware?
Is there a difference between you and reality?

It's just an innocent question, please don't be offended.

I have no idea what you are asking......

Most people talk about god as a man, who either loves us or hates us. All I am saying is that whatever created all of this, could have just been an electrical jolt......that passed its energy to the earth and created life. Does a bolt of lightning know what it is doing? Does it love or hate? Have thoughts and feelings? NO. That is what I mean by self-aware.
