Something i always thought was interesting. I have identical twin cousins. One is 170 lbs, fit, and queer as hell. The other is obese, 400lbs, and straight. Same exact dna but so different

I really don't think that this should matter, to be honest.

Homosexuality isn't hurting anyone, the human population has exploded to the point of the majority being redundant, and the fact that this is such a controversial question is due to the influence of hateful, right wing politics on society.

It's like asking if people are born to enjoy a certain type of music, or like a certain kind of food. It really doesn't matter.

But just going by the gay people I have met in my life and how they looked/sounded, as well as what the majority of scientific research would suggest, I would say that it's probably genetic.

Well, I'm of the opinion that it is genetic in some way. I draw this conclusion from my own experience.
I also think that everyone is on a spectrum, from hetero to homo, with most people falling somewhere in between the two extremes. On a scale of 1 to 100, 1 being totally hetero and 100 being totally homo, I would say most fall within the 1 to 10 range and the 90 to 100 range. Again, this does come from personal experience, not from a scientific experiment. But sufficient anecdotal evidence can be used to form a good theory.

I am not going to put down anyone who has a different opinion, because it is just that, opinion. you are entitled to your own. But don't be getting all pissy at someone who has a differing view. I usually say, 'if you don't like me, shove it up your ass!' This is who I am, and no, I'm not going to change who I am for anybody. I used to care what people thought about me, but no longer. I am THE bitch, and I can be evil cruel and heartless if I want to be. LOL

I actually feel like asking wether or not people are born gay or straight is pretty much like asking wether or not people are born to like or dislike spinach.

I do believe so. I think it is something you cannot help. And that's why no one should discriminate, it is a part of who you are, or so I believe.

    By that I mean this:
I like spinach, it tastes good. Many other people don't like spinach. So here we got two brands of people, those who like spinach and those who dont.
What is it with these people who like spinach? What is their genetic makeup? What happened to them as kids that lead them to like spinach? Did they choose to like spinach?

Well I most certainly did NOT choose to like spinach. Nor did I choose to be sexually attracted to humans with certain shaped/size of breasts, butt, and lack of body/facial hair, and a high-pitched feminine voice(basically, im 100% straight and I can't help it). As much as I just LOVE to over think things, and just about everything, I think homosexuality is just something that we overthink. But oh well. Its fun right?

But honestly theres no better reason to be overthinking the causes of homosexuality than there is to overthink the causes of someone liking a certain food. Homosexuality has more controversy around it than wether or not someone likes a certain food. Its another cultural thing, homosexuality was one of those "no-no's" that no one really talked about when television was all in black and white.

I dont give a damn who anyone loves or fucks anymore than I give a damn what they eat.

It's a comfort claim. Lots of them need it to reassure their selves. Doesn't matter if it's hollow.

It is kind of sad to comfort one's self at the unnecessary discomfort of other human beings.

But according to new research, though identical twins share very similar genes, identical they are not. The discovery opens a new understanding of why two people who hail from the same embryo can differ in phenotype, as biologists refer to a person’s physical manifestation.

It has long been known that identical twins develop differences that result from environment. And in recent years, it has also been shown that some of their differences can spring from unique changes in what are known as epigenetic factors, the chemical markers that attach to genes and affect how they are expressed — in some cases by slowing or shutting the genes off, and in others by increasing their output.

Not so identical, it would seem.
