I have a shotgun, and 38 snub nose. I keep the shotgun next to the bed to stop those pesky home intruders from ruining a lovely evening. And if you don't have a gun you should, because criminals don't discriminate. I know because i used to be one.

Most of you naysayers.. no guns.. have most likely never walked upon a coiled Copperhead/Cottonmouth.. or had to shoot a pack of wild dogs that was eating the baby out of your pregnat goats stomach or a rabid skunk in the barn.. or a 10 ft chicken snake sucking back dozens of eggs and baby chicks...or varmits above and underground that steal the food from you families mouths..... If someone comes to rob me.. let em have it, there's nothing in here worth a great deal.. I'm insured.. I just hope they do it when I'm gone, so I don't get confused about their intent and think that they were going to do me/mine harm... There is not much chance of me overpowering them in hand to hand combat.. I am small stature and do not pose much of a threat... but standing with a 303 or 12 gauage.. I am more to be reconed with.. If the sight of my equailzer does not back them up, then I am inclined to think they are insane and are here to do me/mine harm.. In that case I would do whatever I Had to do to survive and treat them just like would anyother animal that was trying to kill me or mine... I have never had the ocation to have to resort to going for a gun.. I have never felt that threatened.. We don't carry guns around or in our trucks.. unless we are hunting for food.....There was one experience I had where I am glad we brought a gun.. we were clearing out a piece of land to build a Deer Camp on deep in the woods.. it was dark.. I hadda pee and went away from the camp to do so.. There I sat squated ready to pee n heard a low growl.. I looked around the darkness and saw glowing eyes.. several of them.. as I sat frozen.. staring into the blackness I started to make out shapes behind the glowing eyes.. they were dogs.. lots of dogs.. I knew Lynn wasn't far and I let out a trible scream that pierced the night and Lynn came runnng up with his 12 gauge pump shotgun, he blasted a couple of shells off in the sky and then lowered his sights on any stragelers.. There was one wild chowdog that wanted to play so Lynn aimed for the ground right in front of the chows paws and sent the varmit high tailin it into the woods.. by that time my jeans were up and my ass was in the truck ready to go to the house... I am thankfull he had a shotgun.. I don't know what would have happened if he/we had to do hand to hand combat with a pack of wild dogs. Just a for instance..

Nope. Don't really see the point in owning one where I live.
For how long it would take someone to break into my place I've got other things to fend them off with.
I do however have a fairly big knife beside my bed.

Talk about defending yourself, you wouldn't need a gun if nobody else had one, fuck all your guns and stop being such pussy ass little bitches, learn how to fight like a real man. So much shit in the world would be gone if there were no kind of fire arms

Not a big gun person - though I'm not radical and think that guns should be banned. I probably won't ever have a gun. If it comes down to protecting my house from an unexpected stranger, I'll call the police and beat the poo out of them with a baseball bat if need be.

If you have the money, and the ability, go get a gun now. Now that we have that moron in the Oval Office, the only people that will be able to get guns are the people that should not have them.

Now that this moron is going to oppress our second ammendment rights, the rates of home invasions are going to increase, you watch. Criminnals will know that law abiding citizens would be able to have guns, because Obama took them away. So criminals will get more bold and break in your homes. Fortunately, my parents have several unlicensed pistols that they bought in the Bahamas and then were able to bring back on their boat into Miami and they gave me a .45 caliber so I can protect my home. I suggest y'all take appropriate measures as well.

    Cheers and Good Luck,

    Fawkes

You will be the one lost when trying to find a way to protect your home and family. Even if your against firearms, you still must PROTECT our civil rights or you may as well move to a third world country where dictator's rule without constiunt collaboration.

My preference of weapon is a Crossbow. You can make them, and the ammunition from the wild. Nature provides all the materials you would need. Crossbows are silent, not giving your location away, crossbows are less messy, leaving little blood, crossbows are clean, leaving no residue or carbon behind to pollute. Plus you can custom make them to fit your needs/size.

Fletching Stone is and art that is easily mastered with practice. Arrows are lighter then bullets/shells and take up less room, you can also reuse them.

With guns, when you run out of bullets the gun becomes ineffective. You can use old gun stocks to make a cool crossbow.

Just a thought as the time grows near when we have no rights left and no self protection.

Obama clearly states a few favored policies concerning guns and gun ownership. The biggest thing touted about is the re-reinstatement of the federal "assault weapons ban". He states his support for making this ineffective ban permanent.
This ban had nothing to do with "assault weapons" and had no effect on crime at all. Yet he has listed this in his "agenda pages" on whitehouse.gov
So although we will have to wait and see what actions he will actually try to take. His belief on guns and gun ownership is clearly stated out of the mainstream public and clearly illustrated by his voting record.

His VP he chose was one of the those who wrote a policy for assualt weapons ban and his was considered far to radical even for his own party to accept thus it was rejected back in the day. So yes Obama may have one thing going but his VP very much is antigun and as for assualt weapons it simply amazes me that men who have multiple body guards at all times armed with assualt weapons will make policies regarding the banishment of others having the rights to them.

i own a pistol, rifle, and pump action rifle. ("shot gun".)
my parents bought these when, where i live was way, way, out in the country 40 years ago. needed for hunting and protection from some of the wildlife.

my parents just kept them laying around. when i inheaired their estate, i bought a safe and trigger locks for them.

fire arms are the worst way to keep your home safe. i learned how to brugler proof my home. everywhere i have lived i never had a home invesion. alot of people around me did get bruglered, and most of them had fire arms.
if you make it hard for animals and people to break in, they will most likely go else where.
but, oh no! take the short term solution and don't consider the long term solution!
if we had taken the long term solutions first, then almost all of the major problems, in the world and in people lives would not exist today.

well that is just what human history is about; doing the short term stupid thing first most of the time, and doing the long term smart thing most times last.
fire arms are in most cases, the short term stupid solution!

People don't have to own guns, but they do anyway. Some have them for literal protection, others for show. If I get a gun, it'd be because I felt that my life was in danger. Until then, I think I'm okay.

As far as gun rights go, imo, it's either all or nothing with the Constitution. I chose all.

Growing up a Marine's son firearms were always a part of life. Gun use and safety were taught at an early age. As in..."You EVER point that at another human and I'll put you into orbit!! (Pop) I learned fast and learned well. We hunted all fall and winter and I guess he didn't want me pulling a "Cheney" on his ass!
I've never taken a life but at one time was prepared to. Not now. I may hunt again and if dire need call I'll not shy away from a little "rock-salt defense"
During my 'outlaw' days I owned as many as 35 weapons at a time and always carried 2 when I worked. Sold them ALL but one....a Remington 870 Wingmaster (military version)12 ga. pump, possibly the finest "all-purpose" firearm ever made.
In all the years I've owned it only once did I come close to using it. When I first moved into my present little acre a couple of teenagers decided they wanted to come in without knocking. Fortunately, that "universal warning"((((Shuk-shuk better back off assholes)))) sound of loading was enough to scare them off.
Funny thing...over the years a number of neighbors have been burglarized or robbed. We have not been bothered. EVER...not even a piece of litter when they cross through the back gardens. LOL!

I believe in peace and live to respect and serve all but will not give quarter to ill intent.

    Zen
