Now we are down from 38 pages to just 21. All of the current posts have been deleted.
I was told it was because they were "off topic". And not by Balbus, either, so this is worse than thought. There are more of them censoring. I was told that it is because the "off topic" posts were downgrading poor balbus and therefore not acceptable.

Does anyone see a similarity between those folks who would like nothing better than to ban guns, and those who cannot allow people to speak their minds on this forum?

We assume that because we are "AMERICANS" we have the right to possess guns. It says so in the constitution. And we assume that we have free speech as Americans. "I am American and so I can DO this"! That is what the woman who was torch bearer in LA said when the Chinese paramilitary (with blessings from the AMERICAN police) knocked her down and took the torch and her Tibetan flag away from her.

We assume too much. And this censoring of posts is a fine example of the mindset that people have who are on a mission to control everything around them at the expense of others. Take away their guns, take away their freedom of speech, take away their right to privacy, their rights to life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. And then all that is left is a bunch of slaves. Why do people DO this repulsive act? Because ultimately they are afraid of something. Afraid of being shot? Afraid of HEARING or reading something they don't agree with? Afraid that someone else will come along and read something they don't want them to see???

We already knew our constitutional rights were violated by the government. We hoped there were still some places left in this world where people COULD practice their constitutional rights, but this thread is entirely compromised. Literally hundreds of posts have been removed. Why? Because we were complaining about the moderator. In the real world, we might be complaining about the government. What do you suppose the government would do if there were people complaining about IT? Lock us up? Censor us? Kill us? Well, we seem to STILL be allowed to complain about the government. But we are not allowed to complain about being censored HERE. Now, surely you're not gonna tell me that our government is BETTER than hipforums???

I suppose this post will be deleted like all the rest as soon as the mod sees it. But the text will STILL make it to people's email notification, regardless. So, to those who would censor everything, people are STILL seeing these posts! and it is becoming more and more obvious what is REALLY going on here!

I believe that it is WRONG to even continue to keep this post open when the majority of current responses to it are continually deleted. What is the point? With every post deleted the mods are digging themselves farther and farther into a hole of dishonesty. One example after another of the censorship which seems to go hand in hand along with the gun issue. Why not simply make a rule which says we are not allowed to talk about gun bans or gun ownership? Like the ZERO TOLERANCE policy of many schools where you are not even allowed to draw a picture of a cowboy with a gun in his hand or wear a tee shirt with a pic of a gun somewhere on it... THIS would be far more honest than to delete every post that does not follow the agenda of someone who thinks they are smarter than the rest of us.

I suggest that perhaps we should all boycott this thread? Perhaps we should boycott Balbus by never answering another question of his. He is not the only one tho. In fact, he may have been taken off this thread altogether and we just don't know it, but someone else has been put in charge of it and they are the ones who are censoring all the recent posts.

Now, if the government chooses to relieve us of all our guns, we at least have the option to HIDE some, so they can't find 'em. But HERE, we post and take our chances, because we have ZERO control over what happens to our posts, which are actually our THOUGHTS. So, hipforums is infiltrated with THOUGHT POLICE from the top down. Which at present, makes this forum pretty WORTHLESS. And it all ties in, so our constitution is also worthless. What to do? Ideas?

It's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.

I have a .22 rifle with no ammo, and no clip.

And a 20 gauge bolt-action shotgun (and no I didn't type that wrong) with three shots. Both are from the first half of the 20th century, and both are in my closet.

I would, I will someday. I want to go hunting someday. And I would like to get my concealed weapons permit someday. After that moron shot up that mall in Omaha a couple of months ago, I had a dream of being there, and I had a .45 in my waist band, and before he really got going, I nailed him. We all would like to be a hero, but I don't know if I will ever go through with the whole concealed permit thing.

Cho Seung-Hui Killed my friend Danny Cueva at Virginia Tech.

But all that's that's a long way off.

I own an AR-15, a Chinese AK-47, a russian SKS, and a single shot .22. After I'm 21 I will own several handguns as well. My dad owned a gunstore for about 30 years. I currently work there. Guns are a hobby for me. I've never gone hunting, but I shoot in a competitive pistol bullseye league, and I enjoy target shooting.

If you've never shot a gun before, you'd have no idea how awesome it is. I love going down to a farm and shooting cans and watermelons and propane tanks (lol) and stuff.

But I could never hunt or anything. When (if) I get my own home I will get a gun just in case.

    I compete with them.

I used them in my vocation (soldier).

I train people to use them responsibly and safely.

Ya, but if ya wanna argue about whether or not guns are okee-dokee, don't do it here.... Censorship is alive and well. Ya don't even know how many posts have been deleted here... Hundreds for a fact... Free speech is dead, so all we have is a list of folks who either own guns or not. Big whoop. What a waste of time.

Well, another old post that got bumped into my attention. Read a lot of responses and it got into the pro and con of letting any nut in America have access to firepower (that's my biased nutshell synopsis).

I don't own any guns now. However:

I grew up around guns, played with an Arisaka rifle as a kid that an uncle brought back from Japan after the war. (WWII for you yunguns.)

At about 16, my family gave me a .22 cal, single shot rifle with scope. Fun for target shooting and murdering birds (my moral compass was askew in my teens - mom & dad fed me dead animals and said it was alright).

When I got into the service I could get cheap firearms and started collecting pistols. Had a Ruger .44 magnum revolver, Ruger .22 cal. revolver, and a Ruger .22 automatic. Had a cute .22 that looked like the classic .45 cal service automatic, a replica .36 cal cap & ball revolver and a .44 cal flintlock.

I find guns beautiful tools and loved the design and machining that go into making them. As a cop I carried a S&W .38 service revolver and bought my own S&W Chief Stainless as a backup boot pistol. Also, I could carry the stainless into the shower - that's how paranoid you can get.

I was into guns as a cop and had nightmares about my gun malfunctioning. (No Freudian Slops please!) Anyhow, I quit the police department, got my self a steady job (bein' a Hippie) and sold or gave away all my guns except the flintlock - it was too beautiful. The nightmares went away.

Eventually, I gave the flintlock to my grandson - don't know if he will get into the ritual of firing such an antique. So, now I don't own any guns.

I have a M1911 45 cal. semi auto pistol.(its in the videogame Call of Duty 4) My buddy gave it to me. It is fun to go to the range and blast on some zombie targets. My uncles hunted alot, my dad was a cop and I was around them in military school (even though they didnt fire and were for show we always had to treat them as if they were loaded) so i have been around guns my whole life. The only time I havent carried a gun with me since I was 16 was whenever i was messing with illegal substances. (get caught with pot or coke is one thing....get caught with pot or coke and a pistol is about a 10 year difference)

Luckily I have never had to use mine. (ill take an ass whoopin before i take a life) At the same time I feel that I am prepared for the situation if it ever arrives.

Did they have Glocks in 1968? The S&W 2-inch Chief Special was the only stainless pistol available back then. Now I think they have a 4" stainless, but I haven't been into guns for forty years.
