My hammock is Iron such a bitch to get put it together.. It hasnt been taken apart in years.. Id like that other suspended from a tree.. atm trees on my prop are to far aways from eachother to use a hammock between them.
rectangular would work just fine, its true. and it would make it easier to get a matress that fit it properly
I should mention if you had to use multiple pieces you could bolt them together on the outer radius (or in the inner radius if you wanted to manufacture the right kind of joiners) BECAUSE of it's hanging boltholes that stuff is actually, just about the perfect material, you could even plate it up after you did the bending if you had an electrolytic bath big enough. EDIT: you could also make REALLY nice wooden bumpers around the radius, compound miter saw, brad nailer, drill, some bolts, god damn that'd be sexy.
thats how ya learn.. books are great to put a idea in your head but the only way to learn is through hands on trial and error. this is true for many things in life..
being comfortable with materials is the first step at being able to play with them. if you aren't afraid you'll fuck it up, it becomes a lot easier to do what needs to be done.
It's beautiful. I love the style. For comfort though I'd have to go with Elvis's bed. The ultimate in plush.
or you could just use compression couplings like the pipe was designed for.. the rope suspending it would be more than enough distribution of weight to not put undo stress on the couplings..
i think it would look cooler if the ring was wrapped with the foam rubber and then wrapped in fur. you should totally make one man
that's not for the stuff I am talking about. the couplings for the stuff I am talking about are pretty bulky as is, not because they need to be, but because they are also tool free couplers, which aren't strictly required in this application.
