you know HHB, you're a resourceful and handy SOB, i bet you could make a very comparable bed for far less money than it would cost to get the factory made one. shouldnt be too hard at all, really. for me the biggest question would be how to get such a large ring, but i'm sure theres a way i just don't know of

I like my bed however, s'cool and the other one wouldn't fit in this room.

you could also do it with properly crimped and bent metal fence posts, but you'd want to weld the joints.

it would also be pretty easy to do a non circle with other materials like track rails (you know, like hanging displays are hung dfrom, it's rectangular, has bolt holes in the back, two hook around "rails" on the front, you could make bends by taking an angle grinder to it, and bending it incrementally, around the radius.

 

see, i knew there had to be simple solutions that i just was unaware of.

come on, HHB. if you want that bed, you can have it, easy. it does look pretty badass, and its totally within your abilities. i bet you could make it even cooler, too.
