Do you have TOO much possessions???

I've way too much stuff, I try and give it away cos I can't stand waste but a lot of the stuff I have is perfectly good like all my clothes so I keep them and hope they ware out. I had to force my self to use the library so I would stop accumulating books. my problem is that nothing wares out. I've a friend who doesn't keep any thing he can't fit in an old foot locker he picked up years ago. he's a total hippy with no concern for possessions and he's slightly my hero cos of it.

 

That's awesome, I wish I could do that with my stuff. I have boxes full of junk and things I never use, but I can't seem to find the willpower to just get rid of it all.

 

I did come up with a nifty trick to help with clutter. every time you move place don't just unpack your boxes instead just take out what you need when you need it and after a while you'll have a box or two of things you probably didn't realise you never use. my other nifty trick is not buying things until I've waited a month from when I first decided I wanted it, after a month I usually find I've forgotin about it or decided I don't really want it.

 

That's a good idea, I actually might be moving in a few months so I'll have to try that out.

 

Not at all... the less stuff I'm attached to, the better. The bulky possessions that I have are two guitars, an amp, and a keyboard... but I don't see them as possessions that are limiting me or slowing me down... I need em man, I'm addicted to the music, ya see?

Other than that... I gots me laptop...and ehh...some clothes... and books, yes yes... I neeeeed them books.

 

Possessions takes both space and freedom. And I prefer space and freedom, so I have not much possessions.
I own some clothes, some musical instruments, a toothbrush, a backpack and....
well, that is about it I guess. Oh yeah, my coins- and notes collection from all over the world.

 

I have given out 4 boxes of toys to 3 families already! so theres some of the clutter, i have alot of clothes, I wont give up my african wooden statues or all of my 70's mushroom kitchen collection. I had a yard sale last year and hardly anyone wants my clothes. Id make a killing if i sold my clothes on here!
