I think there is a famous haiku that goes something like frog jumps in pond splash So maybe I'm misremembering the haiku, but could there be more than one haiku form?
Lol I think are other versions but the more popular one is the 5-7-5 syllable one, taking up three lines.
I just tried looking up the Matuso Basho Frog Haiku The original is Furu ike ya kawazu tobikomu mizu no oto which sounds like it could be 5-7-5 Various translations, but one is Old pond frog leaping splash!
Is it wrong that I count the syllables to make sure all these haikus are correct?? :blush5: (I should keep these things to myself)
first line - 5 syllables second line 7 syllables last line - 5 syllables If there are no rules, it would just be a poem. :unsure:
