Hummm. The thread is called, "do you feel that gods expectations are unrealistic." You recounted parts of our conversation but I don't understand how you figure that what I am talking about has nothing to do with the ongoing discussion. "Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes, truly I say to you, he will gird himself and have them sit at table and come and serve them.", speaks to gods "expectations". I am not just randomly quoting scriptures and it certainly has to do with the ongoing discussion.

Gods will is everlasting life, gods will and our will is the same will, although we can be confused about what accomplishes the estate of doing gods will. There is an authority problem about what sources us. The conflict is between creation and mammon. Seek not for yourselves treasures that rot and rust, but seek first the kingdom of god and all things will be added.

Temptation is the desire to have illusion be real, to consider any transient phenomena to be equal to the eternal love of the creator. Nothing transient could sustain the whole or holy nature of gods children, nor could any moments sacrifice substitute for undying devotion.

Then Dope, if you just want to make some random comment about the OP, don't quote me when you are going to make a comment that has nothing to do with the quote I made.

I can see that you might want it to look like you are commenting on what I said but it just makes you look bad.

Again friend, I am not here to make your points for you, and it really doesn't slow my roll if you can't keep up. I am not making random comments. If I were in a fashion show I might care how I look, but like I said I don't share your vanity.

Never asked you to but in reality, your way out in left field comments do make it really easy to make my points.
I never said anything about not keeping up, in fact you say nothing to keep up with. You keep quoting the same hand full of scriptures out of context, much like Satan did when tempting Jesus and frankly they just show that you have no idea what God's purposes are or what God's will is.
You do it all the time and when I call you on it, you keep coming up with the most off the wall comments, that are almost meaningless, to try and justify their randomness.
I don't care much about how I look but I take care not to denigrate Jehovah God, Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit in what I say, something else you don't seem to care about.

    Happy easter waterbrother!

It truly is a vain arrogance to think that we can defile gods creation. It also conceals the truth of the way the holiness of gods children envelopes everything they see. We were created by god to in turn, create the good.
You cannot in fact denigrate god but you can fail to appreciate your brother and in so doing, fail to appreciate god.

If the proper amount of groveling is undertaken, unfullfilled expectations are most likely sublimated. Just my guess tho.

Thanks for the sentiment but truth be known I don't celebrate Easter.

I don't believe I said anything about defiling God's creation.
    What?
    To do good.
You can in fact denigrate God, in fact as I've pointed out you do it quite often.

We do gods will by creating the good. We create as our father creates.
And this idea is in fact, purely vain.

I kind of figured you didn't really recognize resurrection. I don't celebrate holidays either but there is no harm in remembering an idea.

Part of God's will is that we do good.
You seem to finally be getting it, your denigrating God is purely vain.

God is the only real measure it is not up to us to define good. Love being without condition is beyond what can be taught.
The idea that god can be denigrated is like saying you can create your own parents. Your Idea of god is weak and needy.

What are you talking about? Just because I don't celebrate the pagan tainted holiday of Easter does not mean that I don't recognize the resurrection. In any case if you wanted to "celebrate" the resurrection you should have done it last week instead of this week.

Actually I celebrate the resurrection always through communion with the holy spirit. This effect of communion with the holy spirit, the comforter, is the most profound of jesus resurrection. This heaven to earth connection is the reason for jesus demonstration. I must go, that the comforter may come.

I was just teasing you. You see it is easy to tease an ego, the bigger it is the more vulnerable it is because it is based on false distinctions, like, "if you wanted to "celebrate" the resurrection you should have done it last week instead of this week.", or "pagan tainted".

When did I say it is up to us to define good?
Something that your spirit buddy can't teach you? The Holy Spirit has no trouble teaching love to those who will listen.
It seems you don't know what denigrate means, it means 1. defame: to attack somebody's character or reputation 2. disparage and belittle: to disparage or criticize somebody or something, or make something seem unimportant
Which is what you have been doing, attacking God's character and reputation.
Really? Why, just because Jehovah has shown love, mercy and restraint by not immediately destroying you for your temerity, you now believe that he is weak and needy?

In order to do good, you must define what good is, otherwise how could you do it.
Actually the holy spirit helps us let go of the barriers we have built against it.
The barriers against love are our judgments against our brothers and against the world.

No I haven't. Does god is the only real measure, sound like attacking gods character and reputation. Does it attack gods character and reputation to say that god loves his creations. Does it attack the character and reputation of god to say that god is a god without opposites? You my friend confuse character with hero worship.

No, because you believe that god is an ego that can be offended, a power that can be overtaken by sin or evil.
God was nothing but merciful in creating and sustaining me in all things. What you describe is an inability to affect your own judgments upon the world. They only affect your perception and the way you behave, they do not contribute to the truth.

Wait a second let's go back and see how you tried to gloss this one over.
Yet Jesus said at Mark 14:36 “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you; remove this cup from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want.”

So we see Jesus has the idea that God wants and so it follows you think that Jesus is here having a purely vain and egocentric perception.

When I called you on it, this was your comment:
But that doesn't explain why Jesus had the idea God wanted something and that it is that idea that you called: a purely vain and egocentric perception. Could it be that your good spirit buddy has mislead you?

I leave the definition of good up to God and that allows me to do good just fine.
So your good spirit buddy is having trouble teaching you about love, imagine that.
Perhaps for you but those taught by the Holy Spirit don't have that problem.
Just because you may have made a couple of comments that didn't seem to directly attack God's character does not mean you have never done so.
And this is your excuse for denigrating God? God can't be offended and he loves me, so I can say any mean hearted thing about him I want.

This is what your good spirit buddy has taught you love is?
What I'm describing is the demonstration of your "love" of God.
Behave? I'm not the one denigrating God.

As for contributing to the the truth, unlike you, I'm not trying to make up "new truths" that lead away from God but to tell out the truths that God has already assured us of.
