Didya know there are sex and drug topics out there??!! I am sure he isn't the only one that lurks such forums.
He knows more about the stoners regs than I do, he asked me about one of them the other day, I was like "WHO the hell is that, do they post on RT or have dreads?" Man needs to post FFS.

I lurk "new posts" though..when I am not feeling chatty.

I lurk "new posts" when I accidently click on them instead of "my posts" if I decide to click on "my posts" to have a quick and easy way to get back to RT.. Y'know what I'm saying.

I was/am a lurker in hip forums as well as in usenet from time to time. It's a good way to learn from others wisdom (or shit). But recently I thought about becoming a stalker with you as my role model .

Hip forums is the only place where I don't use my real name. I've thought really a long time about it and then decided to use a pseudonym for some reason. I prefer real names, not cool pseudos. But I can understand that there are reasons for using a pseudo. I'm using networked public communication platforms for over 15 years now, but wasn't challenged with serious problems yet. From time to time some angry weirdo appears and threatens the people. But weirdos come, weirdos go.

Of course, you build up an on-line identity over the time. And some people may be disturbed if you don't fit the image they have of you. People tend to forget that they only know a small slice of the others lifes. So I would say, be yourself, but think about the facts you reveal about yourself and this internet stuff becomes fun.

i lurk for about 5 minutes, til i feel the need to post something pointless. like this. lol.

 

i lurk more than i post. i come here every day pretty much but i dont post every day.

 

Sometimes I do, just because I want something to read, but either don't have anything to contribute to the conversation or can't really relate or get into whatever is being discussed at the time.

 

I think part of it is people's assumptions based on what the board says.

When you go to a listing and it says 77 viewing, it doesn't mean 77 people are sitting there refreshing their screen waiting for changes. It means that in the last certain amount of time (maybe 30 seconds? maybe 5 minutes?) 77 people hit that page.

But besides that, just because you read something, you aren't obligated to respond to it...lol

 

i lurk quite a lot, i only post if a thread interests me or i feel that i want to share something in the thread with others...
