This made me consider that Star Trek's Primary Directive to not interfere with less developed societies could be a universal code for most advanced sentient races. Thus they leave us alone, or do they?

The Primary Directive is just a projection of how we would LIKE to be treated by superior aliens. Don't count on it!

I believe this. They probably have to stay away for their own security purposes too - who knows what disastrous things can happen if we were exposed to their technology. Or they are just waiting to wipe us out in one swoop, either way we have no idea.

Maybe we amuse them with our stupidity. We could be like a comedy series for the aliens. Although most of the time humans are a boring soap opera on endless repeat.

Maybe the alien leaders don't want humanity to influence the behavior of their species. They would characterize us as a bad influence like a naughty child.

One theory that is gaining momentum is that human life moved from Mars to Earth after a cataclysmic event.
When you look at pictures from Mars today, it does make some sense. We forget that the pyramids were not constructed in the middle of the desert and at the time of their construction the area was green and fertile land, with a complete civilisation living in towns and villages.

Does the human race extract all the oil and minerals from the land, then turn all the rock into sand before moving on.
In addition, does the heat output from the sun vary over tens of thousands of years, making life possible or impossible in different parts of the universe.

This brings as back to the theories that an intelligence greater than ours in involved along the lines.
What I find strange is that world leaders never involve themselves in these theories, often breaking promises to do so in their manifesto.
Is this because they are told that the truth would collapse every religion that holds civilisation together.
An old friend of mine, who I have always suspected had connections beyond this earth, explained all this to me during the final weeks of his life. For some reason, it made sense.

    PS.
The theory that I landed at Roswell in 1947 is not true............ At least I don't think so. :D

This makes a lot of sense. I refuse to believe that in that huge universe out there, that humans are the only intelligence or sentient beings out there - we probably do amuse them, we probably scare them with our blatant violent tendencies - you have a good point saying we could possibly influence them. It brings me back to that Star Trek TNG episode where the aliens were experimenting with experiencing our strongest emotions, lust, rage and gluttony. They sent three representatives to experience them, the most memorable one being messing with Worf and then putting Picard in an impossible situation on a nearby planet testing his love for the alien. Maybe they toy with us out of curiosity too. But if they are a more reserved intelligence some of our behaviors can be seductive to them.

Human behavior is so outrageously predictable, the Pentagon has decided to use AI to censor half of reality, but their own AI decided to censor the Pentagon instead. Whether that was alien influence, is anybody guess.

    AI = Alien Influence?
    Not so far fetched?
Think about this. If aliens were to monitor our use of energy, they would immediately notice how the new AI centers now command the most energy consumption on earth, as much as whole cities and states. Together they use as much as several countries.

That would lead them to investigate further as would any competent Star Trek crew. Then seeing how incredibly stupid we are giving AI so much power over us, might decide to interfere unobtrusively in our AIs to save us from ourselves.

In fact, any alien species reaching our stage of evolution would likely have dealt with similar scenarios. So hopefully they have a solution....

ALIENS, HELP! SAVE US FROM OURSELVES.

Show yourselves and we'll take you to our dear leader, who you may do with as you wish. I don't think your standard anal probe will be sufficient.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

If a giant spaceship suddenly showed up in the sky--the aliens would probably play the Chuck Berry song worldwide that we sent into space some years back. That would placate us right up until they blasted us into oblivion.

The only way aliens could cross the void of space, is if they actually know how reality works. In which case, they would also already know there's no intelligent life around here, and nobody worth talking to.

    Who is they. ?
If the universe is infinite, does it not stand to reason that there are infinite other life forms and also an infinite number of suns to keep it all warm.

Back in the 1960s, at the royal institution in London a model of our explored universe was constructed on a 15 foot table.
If this model was updated today, it would cover the entire planet. This is hard to believe but true.
What we see is light, so some of what we are seeing is tens of thousands of years ago.

Last year it was suspected that a star was emitting intelligent radio waves. If we sent them a 'Hello' message, we would have to wait 25,000 year for their reply

Another very true fact is that several scientists who have tied to work all this out have dunk themselves to death in their 30s.

Oh Drat, my whiskey bottle is empty. :(:(
