Do you believe in astrology?

Discussion in 'Astrology' started by Robofish, Oct 27, 2012.

  1. People do oddly seem to fit their astrological signs. There do seem to be certain types of people that fall under the signs of the zodiac. Birth charts can be pretty revealing as well. But I don't believe it's a way to determine the future.

No that's your brain tricking you into thinking they fit their astrological signs.

I haven't really looked too far into star signs and astrology. I believe that, while it's a bit of a laugh to most people today, in the far distant past I think they may have actually meant something. Ever since religions like Christianity, I believe people have sort of forgotten about that part of themselves, that sort of spiritual and enlightened part of themselves. There are ways that people can reach this but modern society also laughs them off as silly Pagan beliefs and voodoo. I however, keep an open mind and think that it could possibly be reality, maybe not in all the cases, but I think the right people who understand the right techniques can tune into this part of themselves.

I saw on a documentary two nights ago about how 10,500 years ago, the pyramids were aligned exactly to Orion's belt. The Sphinx also at 10,500 years ago stared exactly into the centre of the star sign Leo.

I know some may scoff at my time frame, but I'm just stating facts. :) anyway, in this day and age our star signs are slightly out from what they were when first theorised. I'm not certain if this adjustment could have shifted certain energy and we've somehow lost connection to the stars, or it was a purpose design indoctrination to strip it from us through religions, most likely.

So while I don't really look at astrology and star signs as anything today, I think they could have had meaning in the past. Maybe some cool, fun, MINDBLOWING meaning. :)

it's an obvious thing to do, but i've never seen it done...
just film a bunch of people getting told their horoscopes or star sign characteristics
but tell them the wrong ones
and see if they claim it's correct. then the matter is settled.

that's exactly what i hoped would happen, that someone would show me it existed.
i feel a bit stupid that it was already in the thread though.

Superstitious people have the critical thinking skills of a deep fried chicken nugget.

  9. Everyone I can think of, whose sign I know, fits their sign to a T. Of course that's only a handful of people, but still. Except maybe one guy who could be a Scorpio rather than an Aquarius. Sexy motherfucker.

Guess my sign if you want to.

    ^^ Pisces??

I don't think i fit mines to a T. Maybe if a person really gets to know me deeper they might think so.

  11. Nope! Thanks, though, I take that as a compliment.

A lot of times you can have a planet under some weird sign that can make a big shift, too.

I have an old friend I've known for a very long time who is Pisces, out of 21 traits this man fits them all.

Whether it has profound meaning for us or not I've often found people I have known fit their signs very well as do I.

Astrology was demoted from science to superstition because it never worked. Anyone here who won the lottery thanks to horoscopes ? Please give us a break, there are too many lunatics already pushing all fashions of anti-scientific bullshit into feeble minded individuals. Let's avoid spreading diseases.

Your subconscious is like a computer that is blank until you tell it some thing= belief. So what ever you tell it ,it puts as fact. You create your reality. I create a pretty crappy one but I'm working on it.....ok I do the tarot. And I believe it works rather well if you have your belief programmed into your subconscious. You could if you had time and patience create your own future predicting system.
The things in the newspaper I think are rubbish. Personality traits are one thing but saying it's a good day to start a diet is no different a fortune cookie. Start reading books on the subconscious mind and see what you can learn.

i just read all of the different signs traits, pretending each time that i was that sign, and actually there are only two where i don't instantly think, well that's nothing like me, and one of them is the one i am. but i would still tend to say the whole thing is nonsense. i want to read some kind of statistical analysis of people and their star signs and what percentage fit them.

    what sign are you?

Cancer. I can see how some traits can be quite fitting for me but not to a T. Sagittarius is dominate in my chart and also my moon sign. That's what got me looking more into it. When i started reading more about the other signs and how it may reflects me. Like my North and South Node is surprisingly accurate. Many people only look at their sun sign to see if its real or not but completely neglect their moon and ascendant sign. Like my Mom is Leo but her outward persona reflects more her ascendant, Virgo sign. I think horoscopes are nonsense. And still feel agnostic about astrology. Real or not i find it interesting. You are Aries, correct?

    Yeah, correct.
The other sign that I would have thought could describe me was Taurus, but Aries was more accurate.
But I think I feel much the same as you about it.. horoscopes nonsense. Maybe there is something in what our signs are.. but how is it helpful anyway?
I can read about Aries and think, woah well that does sound a lot like me.. but how does that benefit me?

I don't look at it as beneficial. More just a topic of interest. I look at it with curiosity. What websites did you look at to read about your sign? I normally use cafeastrology. Sometimes i use alwaysastrology as well.
