Means it all depends on each person's perspective...is the gist I'm getting, lol.

I actually think more in terms of whether or not the girl and I are compatible. That's just me, though. I've never lived in USA.

    I'm with you there,,

I'm not much for "the rules", or "community standards". They change from culture to culture, and from generation to generation. Plus, there's always that odd exception to the rule of "what's right".

I think the rule should be love. Do you truly love this person, or are you simply acting selfishly, taking advantage of an opportunity to fulfill your own desires? Love cuts across all age groups, because it recognizes the context in order to respect the other's place in life, and what is good for them.

Regardless of law, or social norms, there ought to be some amount of consideration for what is good for each individual, and not only for oneself.

Take your average pedophile, for instance. He/she thinks she "loves" this or that one, but is not taking into account the affect of personal damage, in both a personal and social context. This is because he/she is blinded by romantic or passionate feelings. Some people just don't have the self-restraint to accept boundaries, and find it far more exciting, or "adventurous" to cross them, giving themselves license due to the feelings of their emotion. This kind of person is socially thoughtless and insensitive.

I've never seen the movie "The Last Tango in Paris", but from what I've heard, it involves an aging Marlon Brando with a young girl, in an apartment in Paris. I read recently that the actress who played the girl recently passed away (Maria Schneider). She reported that her involvement in that movie (not without duress, being under pressure from the director) affected her career, indeed the rest of her life adversely. Sad for her, somewhat callous for those involved in the movie. And that's not even real life.

I agree. Although, if I were to add, or further clarify what you said regarding "pedophiles", an average pedophile most likely wouldn't get involved with a child sexually. I've actually interacted with many of them before(where isn't important), and I can tell you they are very timid, lonely individuals who choose to live in celibacy. Now, an average child molester would be a totally different story. One does not necessarily have to be a pedophile to be a child molester. Many child molesters do what they do because they know kids are vulnerable. That to me is a sign of sadism than anything else.

The entertainment business is a tricky territory for young people because of the very thing you mentioned. When you're an actor, you become a marketable product of sorts in a way. Directors and producers sometimes focus so much on promoting their work that they forget the actors are people, too. And especially with young people, a lot of care needs to be put into various aspects of the filmmaking/promoting process. But then that's going off on a major tangent from the purpose of this thread, LOL. xD

Yeah, I think you and I both know that it would be unwise to approach issues, especially of this nature, with an absolutist stance.

Humans are simple, yet ridiculously complex beings, lol. :p

young in my eyes is 18. it's the youngest i'd date, though unlikely because 18 year olds are immature. i'm 25.

no teenage girl is mature. they think they are, and can fool us into believing they are - but they are not.

they have no emotional capacity, at least to me. i get hit on most by 18 year old rock chicks, they piss me off.

Actually, there in fact are mature and intelligent teens out there. I've known one since she was 12 years old, and trust me when I say she was already more mature than a lot of adults 3 times her age. How could that be possible, you might ask? Well, for one thing she's always been very open minded and has had an understanding that, even back then, not everything in life can be put into the black and white term. She would be among the last to jump to conclusions. She's still like that, only more mature, lol. Sometimes I chuckle at myself whenever a thought enters my head that there's a little granny inside her teen body, LOL.

And this is just one example. It's highly unrealistic to conclude that she's the only mature teen. For that matter, I recall there were some even on here from 5 years ago. I will say this again; allowing yourself to think in absolutes may lead to some seriously negative outcome.

I have met those teenage girls that brag about how they'll fuck my brains out. And I met a couple after they turned 18. We fucked and I'll be damned. Nice bodies, nice muscles, but problems out the ying yang.
First, they still don't know how to shave correctly. Having sex with a Brillo Pad is not cool, amigo.
Second, they failed. I fucked their brains out and they couldn't keep up. Talk about borrrrring!
Third, the only "fuck my brains out" they had planned was to call the pigs on me. Not this time girlie! Different rock, different station.

I won't waste my time with anyone under 24.
