While there may be no excuse for rape, and the term "asking to be raped" may be considered offensive to some, there has to be a degree of taking some personal responsibility when in dressing in a way that is bound to attract attention from sexual predators.

When a shopkeeper takes his day's taking to the bank, he doesn't carry them in a see through bag advertising the contents to the world, yet if he did so & were to get robbed, for which there is also no excuse he, too, would also be accused of asking to be robbed.

This is not an ideal world. Everyone needs to get recognise the risks & take action to avoid them accordingly.

its not how people dress thats the problem.a persons behaviour is owned solely by the person using it.they are responsible for their own behaviour.a non-pervert or non-rapist person will not go around sexually abusing or also to the point of raping any individual female or male, just because of what they are or are'nt wearing.thats called passin' the buck.people abuse because they are abusers!an people that rape rape, because their rapists!

I totally agree, but they will still be attracted to those they see as 'flaunting it'.

    Nah, sorry, can't agree here.

Anyone should be free to wear what they like - not forced into boring, unattractive clothing (which may not suit their body or personality) just in case some rapist might be around.

The first cause fault lies with the rapist, not the victim.

Well now you guys are discussing something that is extremely complex. Not all rapists share the same motivations or even their victimology is different, while others just take whatever opportunity they can get. My point is there is a gap in logic into trying to assume how one dresses influences a potential rapist's behavior.

If anything, most rapes occur by someone the victim knows, and how one dresses seems to be an irrelevant factor.
