I once met a couple of Norwegian girls in a pub in Scotland, a couple of years ago. I was a little drunk and merry, and slightly stoned. We happened to bump into each other at the bar and i started talking to them, can't remember what i said, just being friendly. They just stared blankly into space like I wasn't there.

And why did they do this?

Well it's because in this particular town drunken scottish guys have a reputation for being arseholes, and getting drunk and starting fights. So they felt threatened by me, based on a stereotype and not my approach which was none other than friendly and non-hostile, and that is why they blanked me.

Not the first time it has happened either. It has happened to me numerous times in Holland as well, because Scottish and english guys have an ever worse reputation for being dick heads over there.

Now, McLeod, the situation you've described is somewhat different - You're (justifiably) pissed off that, though you're a decent guy (which I believe you are), birds are tarring you with the same brush as the aggressive, drunken idiot blokes who infest every city, town and village throughout the UK.

It seems to me, the problem doesn't lie so much with the women, but with the fact that so many blokes are charmless, boorish idiots. There are other times when I am out dancing and women seem to notice me then, one time these two birds were really giving me the eye, but I didn't talk to them because I find women on the whole unapproachable. Who knows where that might have led, me talking to them for a short while, acting weird and and them running away to the ladies washroom probably.

I guess in that instance you can say that's my problem. Sometimes I can be in a flirtatious mood with them, mostly I'm not though. I pulled a couple of years ago when I was really drunk, dancing a lot and that and at the end of the night I don't even remember what i was thinking but I just went up to this bird and grabbed her and gave her a hug. Seemed to go down well with her and I walked her home.

If only it went like that more often..

McLeodGanja: Chinaman is a mangina. He is part of the problem that women by and large are having by feeding them. He blames guys behavior for a woman's bad attitude. This allows women to continue acting in the anti-social way that you described above. Those women are not worth the time and thank god more men are seeing that nowadays. Women are not better, have not evolved in to anything more then they were 1000 years ago. The only change is that they have taken the reigns in their own lives out of necessity. I have no inadequacy here. Never had too much of a problem in the dating arena. I know what I want and am willing to take the steps to get what I want. Sometimes I get what I want, sometimes I don't. It's just life. Too many guys in the USA are lost when it comes to adulthood. That is why I posted in this thread. The OP as well as a few people who responded are having a hard time with the whole dating thing because they do not understand basic gender differences. What attracts one to the other at it's most basic level. My parents and especially my father spoke to me about this during my formative years. Boys need this from their fathers. Too many do not have a father in their lives in this day and age.
