For the first five years of his life his mother dressed him as a little girl because she desperately wanted a daughter. This led young Ernest to grow up with a severely fractured sense of self, which is why he overcompensated for it later in life by hunting big game in Africa.

Hemingway lived his entire life in pursuit of what he thought a real man should be.

I disagree, Hemingway was a mediocre writer at best who lived a fantastic, exciting life. As for what kind of man he was, I don't know. But he sure as hell did some manly things in his life.

 

I was raised by not one woman, but three! I missed having a dad, and I think this is largely the reason why I was never any good at getting chicks. Should maybe add Hemingway to my list of three books I have to read this year.

And I'd say Hemingway was a prick rather than a ****. I certainly wouldn't have thought one could learn anything from either his life or his writings.

 

But you do need an example to learn by. Without a father figure, biological father being the best, learning to be a man will be considerably harder. Being an apprentice is a good thing and helps to maintain direction. Fathers are more important then mothers when it comes to boys.

 

The problem is that you think there is a problem. You are probably a little self conscious and submissive, these things tend to be unattractive qualities. My advice is to find something ur skilled at like a sport or playing music or something anything and focus your energy into like mastering it. This way you can feel like a boss and be confident and if you give off a confident vibe the girls will follow.

I know this all too well from my own experience.

 

I went out to a club last night, didn't pull as usual. I bumped into a couple of young student lads and they were complaining about how all the girls are really difficult to approach, and they just treat them like shit even though they try to be nice to them. They seemed really despondent about it, reminded me a lot of how I felt when I was there age, got exactly the same attitude as they are getting now.

I told them to go and stay in eastern europe for a while, it's a different matter there altogether. You can actually talk to girls and sometime they just ask you for sex.

In Holland too they are far more open. Christ you can't even smile at a chick here without them screwing up their faces because they think you are mentally raping them. If you hold open a door for them you are a male chauvinist pig. In Holland though they are always pleasant and friendly and smiling.

 

McLeodGanja - You summed it up. American women can have their attitude, stay the cackling hens they've become, while I pay attention to real women. It is sad what american women have done to themselves.

 

America is really big place; people in nyc are not at all like people in nys so how can u say that all American women are the same. If a woman has an attitude it’s her right. Just because our women for the most part have a strong independent streak does not mean they are "cackling hens" perhaps they smell the stank of looser on you and want nothing to do with u.

And honestly, is it any wonder you had more success with women when you were in Europe or the states?
