Do cops make you nervous?

cops around here are alright, theres so much going on in the big city they hardly have time for anything other than the real important shit. Theres always drunken drug using maniacs on the street and they just sleep in their own piss and shoot up all the time, nobody seems to care.

 

Yes, because around here you never know if they're in a bad mood and willing to use their authority to their advantage. Usually they make threats if you "step out of line" or say something wrong, and I'm not talking aggressively either. I've seen a lot of "intimidating" arrests happen around here. I'm not saying all the cops around here are bad though. Quite a few are good at their job and give most people a chance or a heads up, if you will. I just try to treat them as any other human being, because I'm sure being a cop has a few drawbacks on a social level. Occasionally some people stop to chat at the gas station, but most of the time it's "oh man, it's a cop! Don't look him right in the eyes or you'll turn to stone!" They're not 'just' cops, they're just people like everyone else.

I'm not really afraid of cops unless I'm under the influence (never driving under the influence, of course). But if I'm with someone or out somewhere and I'm stoned/drunk, I'll get a little nervous if I see them, but other than that, I have a real problem with authority and I generally get really mean with them

 

I never get nervous. If you get nervous and act a fool then they will get suspicious and start questioning your ass. If you are chill they will leave you alone.

 

Yes! lol. I hate driving next to them, no matter what i'm doing i'm paranoid lol.

 

Only when I'm holding some bud I get the uber paranoia.

but in general I do feel singled out if walking directly by an officer, like i am somewhat of an outcast or criminal though i have felt judged by all authority figures in my whole life.

 

I always get freaked out when I see a cop whether I'm breaking the law or not. The cops aren't really crooked around here, but they have nothing better to do but bust pot heads that's like their main agenda.

 

I am extremely paranoid when it comes to cops. I think it was because I was raised by a strict authoritarian, so it is a natural instinct. It has also become a sort of disdain as well. I am extremely anti-authoritarian and cops represent that bullshit to me. Funny I have like 5 or 6 buddies that became cops. I still like them, but fuck the police in general.

That happened to me before, me and my friends were all stoned and we thought we were gunna get pulled over and I pulled the car over and the cop flew by.

 

Lol i didnt mean that i am a paranoid person only around cops (and uptight people.
I remember overtaking one once because he was doing way under the speed limit and i wasn't speeding to do so and the asshole sped up and pulled me over. They don't like not being the leader even if it's like a funeral procession

 

People in uniform carrying guns tend to make me a bit nervous....:-/

 

Cops only make me nervous when I'm driving. When I'm not, I know the chances they will fuck with me are slim to none.

 

Last summer me and a friend were driving along a busy road listening to

some tunes. We had been to visit my friends cousin who had given my

friend a lb of amnesia haze. We were on a coastal road that snaked

along the coast so seeing ahead of you was impossible.

We come around a bend only to see like a massive checkpoint full

of machine gun wielding trigger happy lunatics ...........

Due to the flow of traffic and size of the road they only had capacity

to search 4 cars at a time. Cops and dogs swarmed the stopped cars

as we approached.

Thank fuck that they were at full capacity when we passed...!!!!!!

As we were waved along our hearts racing with the rush and relief..!!!!

Needless to say a few :sifone: helped to relax after such a stress journey.

 

Anyone that has the authority to take me to jail for smoking a plant makes me nervous.

How much "protecting" do you think cops are actually doing...like I've always thought long and hard about this how could a cop get there in time to save you if you're being raped or murdered all they could do is pick up the mess and catch the guy after you're dead.

 

Nervous but not so it shows. I never trust a cop. Their job is to arrest people, to assert power and many of them believe it's also their job to punish. It takes a certain mindset to want to be a cop and that kind of mindset tends to be mean and self righteous. I've never been busted for anything and make sure never to do anything stupid. That still does not mean they won't try to get you for something. It equals job satisfaction to find something wrong with another person. That worries me.

 

One bad experience with cops and its fucked me up with them for life, i hate just walking by them even when i dont have anything on me
