Oh, bullshit. You're telling me I have nothing to be a fan of because they haven't won a championship? You're a fucking moron.
Hey, I know damn well about rooting for teams that have a history of futility. I'm the biggest Red Sox fan going and well, look there now. Also the Pats and well, you see them now at 7 and 1 with wideouts that are playing better db than your corner backs. Hmmmm, the Celtics have sucked forever, but they have one 16 titles - 3 in my lifetime. Oh and we did beat Indy in the first round 2 years ago, when Indy was supposed to be the best team in the east. Its cool though man, some got it better than others - not your fault you were raised in some podunk town in the midwest
well, Bird is from there, I'll give you that - but outside of that and the rare IU title, can't say much about the pacers
If you want to talk about rooting for worthless causes, try the Detroit Tigers and Lions. At least the Red Sox had Ted Williams over all were a good team. Last year the Tigers almost set a record with 118 or so loses. Damn shame they didn't lose a couple more and break the Major League record. They would come out of the season with something more than a dissapointing year. This year wasn't much better. They managed to win about 20 or so more games than last year. With maybe one or two exceptions, the Lions never made it passed the 1st round of the playoffs. We burn through players and coaches but are stuck with the same owner whose talent watching the bottom line and not winning championships. At least we can watch them on Thanksgiving day. We have rewarded consistant losing seasons with new stadiums for both teams. The Red Wings and the Pistons were the standouts. Hockey being locked out, maybe for the season, leaves only the Pistons as a viable winning team. Now it seems the Detroit Fans shot themselves an inch or two below the belt buckel of our last refuge.
