henna-ing my hair today! wish me luck

 

Good luck! I've heard so many mixed things about henna, some say it's awesome and others say they hate it... so I shall be watching closely...CLOSELY. :wheelchair:

Have only done the bottom half of my heads dreads.



Though I suppose it'd be good for colour comparison on pre and post dyed dreads...

 

And it really does smell and look like a massive cow turd

 

What colour are you trying to get?

 

roooooooooouge. i don't think it'll be really really red though. my natural colour is dark brown, and my dread ends are still a bit purple, but the blonde is showing through. SO. it's ganna be a hodgepodge of colours, again. I reckon it'll be dark, but shine red in the light... I'm hoping this is what will happen anyway!

 

Just rinsed off the henna, four hours after applying. My head had temporary diarrhoea. Grossssssss.

 

I've always loved the effect of henna on hair. Red hair is so bomb. pics!!

 

at the moment it looks like it hasnt done anything. some of my dread ends are looking more ginger than they did before, though..

 

henna update: its done fuck all.

 

henna update two: the pale blonde/bleached ends have gone orangey but i dont think its very noticeable. i dont think the colour shows well on the darker parts of my dreads. not sure if i want to buy more to finish all of my hair..

 

henna update three: saw a friend i havent seen in a while. the first thing she said was 'oh, youve dyed your hair red again!'

 

4 years and 6 weeks and 4 days. Freshly henna'd using caca rouge from Lush. THREE blocks worth! I also left it on for ~16 hours. I am now slightly ginger.
