My favourite thing to do when people asked "how do you keep them dreaded?" and when I answer "they do it themselves", I give them two ends of a dread to feel - hard bleached bit at the tip, and a softie brown bit at the root
ive never understood how dreads dread themselves. i dont understand how my roots dread themselves. i dont understand how the hair knows to just tangle up. in the near 4 years ive had dreads, ive never done any root flipping, root crochet, root tightening, root backcombing or anything... the hair just knows to dread. and i never know how to explain it to people.. they ask all these questions and my answer generally is,,, err.. good question.
Sweet, I love the dread wraps you have. I wish I knew how to do that. I currently have 3 dread braids and am stoked on how it will look. How do you do the wraps? I much rather have wraps than rubber bands in my hair.
Like ya braid. I just took mine out. Just as I thought they was all stuck together. Then it started eating a fatty!! I had to desrtoy it. Kinda You gonna leave it?? If theres voting i say fashooooo!
yeah, this braid is staying - hoping its ganna congo the three together at the root. got another two braids in, dunno if theyll stay
3 years and 10 months and 4 days update!! I have 16 congos, and only 13 dreads are not in congos. In total I have 66 dreads, which (I'm pretty sure) is a few more than I started with! Soo, some pics of congos to start...
More congos.. two neglect dreads at my front hairline, tied together at the root to encourage congo uber congo! 6 dreads as 1 the original braid, which will be left in and the root left to congo
Some of my dreads are all knobbly bobbly and loopy and stuff, but I can't get any decent pics. And this is the root section of on of my congos. Soooooooo fat!
I have braided some loose hair together,, mainly out of boredom, but they have remained during a few washes so I think I might leave them. I have one behind each ear, and then another on the back of my head. Yes, they are held in with rubber bands.. This is the one on the back of my head.. loopy, shrinking, crazy?
MOAR Blogged my timeline - http://thegeologyshop.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/my-dready-timeline.html I have a little silver man climbing a dread Long dreads are LONG
found this. taken last december so dreads were 2 years and 10 months ish. didnt think theyd changed much but they evidently have!
Ah, they are so pretty and so are you. I love the congo you have going on their. Makes me feel better about my own dreads...I keep looking at all these pictures online and they all seem...really thin compared to mine. Then again I was half asleep when I started dreading my hair haha.
