smelly, I'm telling you. I had the same problem with that buildup and itching and scratching. I was super skeptical, but since I haven't used baking soda or soap I have been dandruff free and my head doesn't it. That soap and/or baking soda is drying your shit out.

i used bicarb last saturday, and i used knottyboy on saturday just gone.. so im already going longer between washes. sometimes i rinse thru with just water, so i think ima stick with that. ive noticed less flakes, but im trying to pick at my scalp less

how long you been using just water?

3 months since I touched the soap. It took a month to balance out after quit using soap. It itched like crazy for 3 weeks then when the fourth came it was gone. Then I did a water only rinse. It removed the dirt, dandruff, and smell just as good as bronners or bicarb. I love bronner and use it everyday, just not for my hair anymore. It's awesome having the natural balance of oils because it's so consistent. Just rinse whenever you fee like waiting for your hair to dry and no worries. I was been working outside a lot and rinsed my hair three times in the last week. (more than I have in the last month) I would have never been able to do that with soap before without severely drying my scalp out.

When I was using soap I would get soars from when I would scratch off the dead skin. It could touch it at time and see small amounts of blood on my finger. I always had visible dandruff flakes in my hair. All of that is gone. I am still getting used to the fact I am not using soap. It was a hard habit to break. Almost as hard of a habit to break as washing your hair everyday or more than once a week for that matter.

^^ this just made me shudder. I have no solutions for you smelly, because I've never had that problem. I would think try just water for a month couldn't hurt. if only to rule it out.

i would say stop picking at your god damned scalp. but, i guess for some that's easier said than done.

tis hard when it itches like crazy and it seems like there is an inch layer of dead skin on top on your head.

I second that. It took my mom pointing out that I was doing it... It's a vicious cycle.. the more you scratch, the more it itches and the ickier the scalp gets. :(

um. dunno really. i can feel alot of loops and alot of matted-ness. ive been purposely sleeping more on my side to get them matted like the ones on the back, but theres still a lot of ends that are normal, unknotty hair. still annoys me, but what will be will be.

ill get a bunch of photos tomorrow and post them =]

    3 month photo dump =]

Most are feeling waay more matted and tangled than they were, which can only be a good thing. Quite a lot still have a few inches of undreaded hair, but its not really bothering me now. I have quite a lot of loose hair around my neckline,, but again, it doesn’t bother me. I cant really be bothered to t&r it, so im just ganna leave it.

Don’t use shampoo on them anymore, been using just water for the last 3 weeks, and it seems to be better. Flakies have reduced, im scratching less,, but im paranoid about it smelling =/ any suggestions? (I don’t wanna go out and people smell sweat, or just.. unclean smell or something)

There isn’t massive amount of loops and stuff happening really.. small loops here n there, but its mostly just matted/tangled

    Anyhoo.. photos..

Your account is still classed as a "Guest" ..as you can see under your name, When it changes to "Member" a section in you user control panel will appear for you to edit your signature.

To become a member i think your account has to have been active for a month or 100+ posts made. I'm not 100% sure on this. Just wait a little... can do what i did at first, I added my sig at the end of every post. lol.

    Peace.

I washed them yesterday with bicarb, sea salt, tea tree & lemon juice.. great stuff. The water wasn’t dirty, which im shocked about, since ive been gardening and stuff.
