Eliot Smith – my number one go to guy when I'm down. his songs just ooze a special something so pretty, so sad. The Good Life – Tim Kashner’s solo project (he’s Cursive’s lead singer) is probably the most depressing album I’ve heard because it’s so familiar… we dated the same girl, it seems… it kinda reminds me of some of Bright Eyes earlier stuff, which reminds me… Bright Eyes – Conor is a genius. Fantastic songwriter, great lyricist, although his voice sometimes gets to me. Beck – Sea Change rules.
Don Henley- End of the Innocent Chevelle- One Lonely Stranger Goo Goo Dolls- Iris Beatles- Yesterday Staind- Raining in My Head
Concrete Angel - Martina McBride Travilling Soldier - dixie chicks that andrew melone song, not sure who its by. its country though.
someone mentioned "Mad World" by Gary Jules but one I haven't seen mentioned is "Cat's In The Cradle" by Harry Chapin... I thought that was a happy song when I was younger... and then I listened to the lyrics... that is the only song that I can think of that immediately depresses me.
fuck yea they are man! they got me throught the tough times in life when i was younger like 14. great album when tripping too.
pink floyd - comfortably numb beatles - yesterday (go amelia, totally my answer) h.i.m. - you are the one ben harper - another lonely day r.e.m. - everybody hurts
In the Court of the Crimson King is a great album for anything. Yeah. He's excellent. I have a live DVD of a 1992 performance by John Cale, and on it he performs a very good rendition of "Hallelujah." Cale and Cohen would have been brilliant had they worked together!
That's a good fuckin album. I listened to the cd all the way through each time I listen to it. Very comforting.
Avalance - Leonard Cohen Shooting Star - Elliott Smith Day is done - Nick Drake Wake up - Mad Season I like depressing music.
