Define God

That is your opinion to which you are entitled. However, I don't agree that there is no meaning, and I don't think the scientific explanation is either proven or correct.
But - even if I'm wrong, I think people will always seek meaning in life beyond the purely physical.

Like most threads in this forum, this has once again turned into a debate about the existence or non-existence of God. Pointless.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this thread is titled "Define God". Now I can't define something that does not exist, so I put forward my evidence to support that.

I don't think it's pointless at all.

 

OK- point taken. My complaint though is that any deep or serious discussion is severely hampered in this particular forum beacause nearly every thread seems to degenerate into the god exists/god doesn't exist argument.

I say it is pointless because IMHO it is extremely unlikely that a person who believes will cease to believe as a result of something they've seen in here, and vica versa in the case of an non-believer.

If you don't believe in God, than why not just say 'nothing to define' and leave it at that? Why do some people who don't believe have this urge to post here constantly just saying what amounts to a repitition of the same thing? Is it that they seriously think they will change anyone's mind? Or do some get kicks out of just attacking other people's beliefs?

God- there is no God- and if by some impossible chance Im wrong- God is a poser, a poser who manipulates lies and personifies everything I hate in this world- if people like George W. believe in such a being it further lets me know its something I want and need to steer away from!

That may be the case, but my point is that it can never be proven, let alone by science. So to say that science will eventually discover the truth concerning everything is not true. Also, the ethics point was really just a side note. My main argument was, how is it that we will know there is no more to be known?

The most annoying thing about the internet is you don't know whether you are talking to a person or God. Well, actually, God can take human form as well, and that can be just as frustrating, cuz you never know who is human and who is God. ARGGHHH!!! God is such a dickhead!!! God is so skilled at pretending to be human... God can deceive anyone. That's the major problem with God. You don't know who's who.

Not to mention that God can put a thought in someones head so it looks like they are responding to things you think, when it's really just God using the person to show you that God is there.
