We're cleaning hair in this thread.
Not the oh-so-scientific ridding of 'toxins' from one's body.

    i just use about

1/2 cup to 3/4 cup baking soda
about 5-10 drops tea tree oil
    and
    about 5-10 drops peppermint oil

i leave this soak for about 15 min or while I'm showering.
feels amazing and cleans my head great. i do this about once a week depending on the amount i sweat.

i also do a acv rinse like once every two weeks and i use about..

    1/4 cup acv (if that)
and enough water to soak my head

i pour it on, let it soak for a few minutes, then rinse it out.

    Need a bucket..
    ACV 50:50 with water
    Tablespoon of sea salt
    2-3 tablespoons of bicarb
    Mix
    Dunk hair in bucket.

I leave on for an hour usually.
Then to wash out I fill the bath and stand over it, dunk my hair in, scratch/swish/whatever until I feel its all out, the next morning I usually then wash in the shower with cold-ish water and no bicarb or anything.

I have only done it twice (young dreads), seemed to work:)

Very hot water and lots of bicarb. Then soak and squeeze for 30 mins. Basic and simple, but it works.

Also I don't like that I use ACV for making fly traps, so I haven't tried it on my head.

I take back the ACV remark. Although I still don't appreciate the smell... it turns out I do like the way my hair feels afterwards.

    My current recipe:

    Hot water
    3 tbsp Bicarbonate of soda
    Juice of half a lemon
    6 drops of Rosemary Oil
6 drops of Tea Tree Oil
    8 drops of lavender Oil

Followed by an ACV rinse and then I wash my hair normally.

Luckily the vinegar smell doesn't linger..... but the lavender smell does :sunny:

I do the EXACT same cleanse, that so crazy. I LOVE mixing tea tree and peppermint, to me it seems like a match made in heaven.

I honestly can't stand the smell of lavender essential oil... way to strong for me. I am sensitive to most parfum. Although the shampoo I use is just the perfect amount of both to not be way too over powering, it is made for babies and sensitive adults.

Well it's obviously going to be really strong when it's in the essential oil form, but it needs to be that strong in order for the smell to hang around in the dreads. After everything else is rinsed out it only leaves a very subtle lavender smell.

I know it's supposed to be strong, I am just saying in general... Even the flower itself is too strong...The shampoo I have doesn't even really smell like lavender
